NDSCS president to go on administrative leave effective July 1, after announcing December 31 retirement

WAHPETON, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota State College of Science President Rod Flanigan  will transition to administrative leave effective July 1 according to North Dakota University System Commissioner Brent Sanford. He says Flanigan will be available to support the leadership transition through his contract on December, 31, 2026. Flanigan has served as president of NDSCS since June 2022 and earlier this month announced his intentions to retire in December.

June 9 City of Fargo election results are certified

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The results of the June 9 municipal election in Fargo are now official. Cass County Canvassing Board met Monday to officially certify the results. Josh Boschee was elected mayor and Nikkie Gullickson and Chad Peterson were elected to the City Commission. All three will serve four-year terms beginning July 1. A swearing-in ceremony will be held during the commission’s July 6 meeting. Voters also passed an extension of the 1% Infrastructure Sales Tax through 2048.

Human Rights Commission dissolved on 3-2 Fargo City Commission vote

Human Rights Commission Chair Sekou Sirleaf FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo City Commission voted 3-2 last night to dissolve the Human Rights Commission. The vote was recommended by Commissioner John Strand who says it’s time to acknowledge that the commission was not working. Human Rights Commission Chair Sekou Sirleaf requested the vote be delayed until the next commission meeting, when Mayor-Elect Josh Boschee is seated. Sekou was a candidate for mayor in the June 9 election.
