Mitochondrial function predicts dominance status in brown trout
1 INTRODUCTION There are many advantages to establishing dominance over conspecifics, such as increased monopolisation of resources (Kaufmann, 1983; Tibbetts et al., 2022), improved feeding opportunities (Hahn & Bauer, 2008; Ward et al., 2006) and greater reproductive success (Ellis, 1995; Pusey et al., 1997). The outcome of a given dominance contest is often determined by the level of aggression exhibited by each opponent (Kaufmann, 1983).
Letter to the editor: Wind energy best practices
To the editor: The proposed Douglas County regulations appropriately recognize safety; end of life issues; wildlife and flicker issues; and the economic benefits to landowners. View sheds in Douglas County and elsewhere already include water towers, high voltage electric transmission lines and communications towers. God is not a child abuser, but, He will not suffer us to be tempted above that we are able. The storm will reveal and intensify your fears and doubts. You will slowly, if not suddenly, come to discover weaknesses of your own that you were not conscious of.

Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.” 1 John 2:7-8 In John 14:15, Jesus says: “If ye love me, keep my commandments”…
Happy Happy Christianity - Key Life
by Tom Sloan I don`t do happy-happy Christianity–I tried it and failed. I am weary of people who go around promoting the Christian life as a happy proposition. The thought of having to be victorious over my sin in the name of happiness troubles me. I don`t reject the occasional glass of glee, it’s just that when you`ve screwed things up as many times as I have in the name of happiness, you realize that it is not good for your soul.

London’s Coolest Cricket Club
The Portfolio The Bloody Lads cricket team talks brotherhood – and how to lose in style Words by Ms Phoebe Luckhurst Photography by Mr Tom Sloan Styling by Ms Otter Hatchett, Junior Fashion Editor, MR PORTER It is a blazing Sunday in June in Victoria Park, east London, and the Bloody Lads Cricket Club is doing what it does best: talking about the Bloody Lads Cricket Club.
London’s Coolest Cricket Club
Nominally, its game is cricket, but the BLCC deals chiefly in brotherhood. Men’s sport, even at amateur level, can feel over-competitive and the environment unforgiving and cast with the alumni of county teams. This is anathema to the culture of the Bloody Lads. Mr Matt Ross, a charismatic West Indian guy who insists he’s 50 despite looking like he’s in his mid-thirties, says he hadn’t played since he was “less than 10” before Mr Pawson persuaded him to play.
Halsey Opens Up About Living With Bipolar Disorder and How Criticism Affects Her
For our very special, Volume II: Music Issue , rising star Halsey and legendary singer Debbie Harry bond over the pleasures and perils of blazing trails in the music industry. Halsey: I posted a song online when I was 17. It definitely didn’t become a hit, but it attracted attention from a bunch of record companies. I signed my deal, and then I toured for 18 months straight trying to build a fan base. I’d say I did it the old-fashioned way, but it’s really the only way.
