I live in Trinidad, Colorado, and after watching the press conference from the oval office yesterday I felt very demoralized. That’s what happened to me when Nicole Shannon’s colleagues urged us to profile her for this paper. She is the director of Trinidad State College’s Adult Education program, which includes the GED program along with English as a second language (ESL). I started getting phone calls and texts from people who sang Shannon’s praises.

No mystery why ‘Baskerville’ is such a hit

by Tracy Wahl TRINIDAD —  The newest play at Main Street LIVE is Baskerville: a Sherlock Holmes Mystery by playwright Ken Ludwig. It’s based on the Arthur Conan Doyle story, the Hound of the Baskervilles. What’s surprising about the play is that in addition to being a murder mystery, this version is also a very funny comedy with lots of physical humor. Bobby Warren stars as Sherlock Holmes and brings just the right quizzical demeanor to the role.
