RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A judge in Lancaster County has issued an injunction temporarily preventing Virginia State Police from enforcing Virginia’s new assault weapons ban set to take effect on July 1, according to Attorney General Jay Jones’ Office. The law, which was passed by the General Assembly earlier this year and signed into law by Gov. Abigail Spanberger, makes it a crime to import, sell, manufacture, purchase or transfer assault weapons, with some exceptions.
