You feel compelled to support great writing… When Life Eater asks me to pick out a target for ritual sacrifice who “won’t be missed”, I can immediately rule out the person who doesn’t sleep alone. It doesn’t feel great. Not because I have a good reason to want to pick them – but the opposite, in fact. I don’t know much about them at all, and now that I’ve ruled them out, I can’t justify the time or resources to find out more about them.

Mosa Lina is a hostile game. It presents you with a random selection of nine levels, and a random selection of nine tools, three of which will be rolled – at random – each time you enter a level. This stacking of chance on top of chance means it’s possible to end up with a series of levels you’ll never be able to beat, and you won’t know until you try. Nothing is explained, and the tools you use to approach the physics puzzles are obtuse.
