Colorimetric Detection and Intracellular Imaging of Polynucleotide Kinase by the Phosphorylation-Induced Assembly of DNA-Modified Gold Nanoparticles Click to copy article link Article link copied!
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Polynucleotide kinase (PNK) that phosphorylates 5′-hydroxyl termini of nucleic acids plays a vital role in DNA replication, recombination, and repair and is regarded as both a critical biomarker and therapeutic target. PNK analysis is based on conversion of 5′-hydroxyl group to 5′-phosphate group catalyzed by the enzyme, which is challenging to be optically detected and generally requires additional enzymes and steps for signal transduction.
Hyperacute Progression of Sinonasal NUT Carcinoma After Pembrolizumab-Based Treatment: A Case Report
1 Introduction NUT carcinoma is an aggressive epithelial malignancy defined by NUTM1 rearrangement, most often BRD4::NUTM1, and remains underrecognized in tumors initially diagnosed as poorly differentiated or nonkeratinizing squamous cell carcinoma [1, 2]. Sinonasal disease is especially challenging because small biopsies may show limited differentiation, whereas abrupt keratinization can be focal or absent.

Internal desynchrony of the hepatic circadian system with dissociated systemic rhythms in middle-aged mice under social jet lag-like conditions
Abstract Social jet lag (SJL) leads to a misalignment between the circadian clock and social time. In this study, we investigated the effects of weekly shifts in light-dark (LD) conditions: two days per week with 6-h delayed LD cycles (simulating Saturday and Sunday). Core body temperature rhythms rapidly entrained to the delayed LD cycles on weekends, and these delayed rhythms persisted even after the LD cycle was advanced on Monday.

Open Forum: CO2 is not a pollutant? Tell that to your lungs
Bernard Swope's op-ed is a masterclass in misdirection. Dress up climate denial in the language of political philosophy, quote-mine two officials out of context, and hope nobody notices that not a single sentence engages with what fossil fuels actually do to the air, the water, the oceans, and the human body. Start with the claim that CO2 "poses no danger to public health." Set aside climate entirely for a moment.

Open Forum: Public comment is not the problem - lack of accountability is
I read John S. Campbell’s letter about the Feb. 10 City Council meeting with concern — not because residents spoke forcefully, but because his proposed “solutions” would punish the public for demanding answers and action. First, respect is earned, not granted by title. City Council members are elected representatives of the people. They are public servants, entrusted with power only so long as they use it transparently and responsibly.
Exploring the antidepressant potential of Yueju Pill: Insights from traditional Chinese medicine

Acute Stress Attenuates Hepatic Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury via Hypothalamic CRH Neuron‐Induced HPA Axis Activation
1 Introduction Hepatic ischemia–reperfusion injury (HIRI) is an inevitable complication of liver surgery, especially liver transplantation [1]. HIRI is closely associated with a wide range of complications, such as hepatic failure, early graft dysfunction, and acute or chronic rejection, which can further progress to systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) or multiple organ failure (MODS), which is a serious threat to patients' lives [2, 3].
Corporate Decision Structure and Tax Efficiency: Evidence From Tax Adjustment Speed
This paper examines the impact of allocation of decision rights (i.e., decision structure) on tax efficiency, reflected by the speed at which firms adjust toward their target levels of tax avoidance. Relying on a Chinese setting, we find that listed business groups with a centralized decision structure exhibit faster tax adjustment speed, relative to those with a decentralized structure. This baseline finding is robust to a series of sensitivity checks.
