First Alert: Heat advisory in effect today from 11 AM to 6 PM. Expect high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and the heat index could reach as high as 110° which would be dangerous. This will increase the risk of heat-related illness for anyone not drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air conditioning, and avoiding direct sun. Rain chance should stay low this morning but the chance does increase during the PM hours as some scattered showers & t-storms develop later in the day.

Summer heat continues today with highs in the hot 90s again. Some of the hottest temperatures could be mainly to the north of I-10 with mid to even upper 90s possible. Will we see any rain? A nearby dry high pressure system keeps our rain chance low today. But, tomorrow into midweek, some tropical moisture rolls our way from the west. A high pressure system is moving in from the west. This will help to decrease our rain chance into the weekend and early next week. This time of year, less rain usually means more heat. Expect hot lower 90s to the sizzling middle 90s for high temperatures. And with the high humidity, it’ll feel even hotter: the heat index could reach 105°+ at times in spots. If the heat index is expected to get too close to 108°+, then a heat advisory could be issued for at least parts of our area.
