Material circularity implications of battery degradation in shared electric mobility
Abstract The electrification of passenger transport is central to climate mitigation but increases demand for critical minerals. Shared electric mobility and circular strategies could ease this pressure, yet intensive use accelerates battery degradation and may alter their benefits. Here we integrate province-resolved fleet projections, degradation modelling and dynamic material flow analysis to assess battery material demand and circularity in China.
Association between ambient temperature and thrombosis-related signaling lipids: Implications for early cardiovascular risk
Abstract Nonoptimal temperatures significantly contribute to cardiovascular mortality, a burden expected to increase with climate change. Sensitive biomarkers for early cardiovascular risks remain scarce. We examined how thrombosis-related signaling lipids respond to ambient temperature, analyzing dose–response and lag patterns over a 30-day period, and assessed whether lipid changes mediate the association between temperature and thrombosis biomarkers using mediation analyses.

Anomaly detection and topology identification of distribution network based on conditional variational autoencoder
Abstract In the context of the construction of new power systems, intermittent distributed energy sources such as wind and photovoltaic power, as well as new source-load businesses like electric vehicles and energy storage, are increasingly being integrated into the grid, leading to a more complex distribution network topology.
A Million-Scale, Difficulty-Stratified Optical-Microscopy Image Annotation for Neuron Reconstruction
Abstract Accurate reconstruction of neuronal morphology is a cornerstone for understanding the structure and function of neural circuits. Despite significant advances in imaging and reconstruction techniques that have greatly expanded the scale and quality of neuronal data, existing public datasets still lack large-scale, high-quality, and well-annotated resources, limiting their utility for training and evaluating modern AI models.

Enhancing medical student skills in dispute prevention through objective structured clinical examinations: insights from a pilot study
Background In the complex and dynamic landscape of healthcare, preventing medical disputes has become a critical aspect of medical practice. Medical disputes often arise from miscommunication, medical errors, or unmet patient expectations, leading to a breakdown in the doctor-patient relationship and potentially resulting in litigation.
The impact of family intimacy on college students’ negative emotions—the chain mediating effect of social support and psychological resilience
Abstract Introduction: Family intimacy—a core facet of family functioning—has been posited to protect college students from negative emotions, yet the mechanisms remain insufficiently specified. This study tested whether social support and psychological resilience independently and sequentially mediate the association between family intimacy and negative emotions.
Self-Organization Response in a Crisis: A Case Study of a Shanghai Community during COVID-19 in 2022
Practical Applications This research examines how volunteer groups successfully organized themselves during Shanghai’s COVID-19 outbreaks within China’s hierarchical government system. We found that these groups evolved through five distinct phases, developing from loosely organized volunteers into specialized teams handling testing, logistics, medication, and disinfection. The key to their success was maintaining connections with government offices while developing their own operational methods.

Genomic and phenotypic evidence support visual and olfactory shifts in primate evolution - Nature Ecology & Evolution
Abstract Sensory trade-offs between vision and olfaction in the evolution and radiation of primates have long been debated. However, insights have been limited by a lack of sensory gene sequences and accompanying functional predictions. Here we conduct large-scale functional analyses of visual and olfactory receptors and related brain regions across extant primates.

Antisense Oligonucleotide Therapy Rescues Disturbed Brain Rhythms and Sleep in Juvenile and Adult Mouse Models of Angelman Syndrome
UBE3A encodes ubiquitin protein ligase E3A, and in neurons its expression from the paternal allele is repressed by the UBE3A antisense transcript (UBE3A-ATS). This leaves neurons susceptible to loss-of-function of maternal UBE3A. Indeed, Angelman syndrome, a severe neurodevelopmental disorder, is caused by maternal UBE3A deficiency. A promising therapeutic approach to treating Angelman syndrome is to reactivate the intact paternal UBE3A by suppressing UBE3A-ATS.

Estimation of Signal Distortion Bias Using Geometry-Free Linear Combinations
1. Introduction The theoretical shape of a chip in GNSS receivers is assumed to be rectangular. However, in practice, the actual shape is distorted, leading to biases in pseudorange measurements [1]. Numerous studies have demonstrated a correlation between these biases, the chip’s shape, and the correlators used [2]. This bias, known as the signal distortion bias (SDB), is defined as the time difference between the distorted chip and the ideal rectangular chip.

The Error of Global Ionospheric Map‐TEC During Equatorial Plasma Bubble Event in the High Solar Activity Year
1 Introduction The development of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) data networks has offered an effective way to monitor the ionosphere continuously in the last two decades. Many two-dimensional ionospheric total electron content (TEC) models are constructed based on dual-frequency GNSS measurements, including the global ionospheric map (GIM) (e.g., Mannucci et al., 1998; Schaer, 1999).

Evolution and expression patterns of the neo-sex chromosomes of the crested ibis - Nature Communications
Abstract Bird sex chromosomes play a unique role in sex-determination, and affect the sexual morphology and behavior of bird species. Core waterbirds, a major clade of birds, share the common characteristics of being sexually monomorphic and having lower levels of inter-sexual conflict, yet their sex chromosome evolution remains poorly understood. Here, by we analyse of a chromosome-level assembly of a female crested ibis (Nipponia nippon), a typical core waterbird.

Research on Gluing Properties of Thick Bamboo-Wood-Oriented Strand Boards
1. Introduction Oriented strand board (OSB) is a multi-layered engineered wood panel manufactured through the hot pressing of flat, narrow strands of wood flakes. These flakes are coated with adhesive and arranged in a specific orientation to form the board [1]. OSB products are extensively utilized for building materials, particularly in applications that require load-bearing capabilities [2].
