Digital compassion fatigue in nurses: an evolutionary concept analysis
Abstract Electronic health records, telehealth and home monitoring are changing the psychosocial conditions of nursing work, and digital compassion fatigue in nurses has recently been proposed to describe compassion fatigue that may evolve within technology-mediated care. Direct evidence remains minimal, comprising two concept studies and one commentary, and the boundaries with compassion fatigue, burnout, technostress, moral distress and digital fatigue are unsettled.
Nano-selenium supplementation promotes reduction of antibiotic resistance genes and microbes-host interactions in Hainan Black Goats
Abstract Livestock farming is a major source of antibiotic resistance in the environment. Although supplementing selenium improves the GI-tract microecosystem and host metabolomes, nano-selenium effects on rumen microbiome and resistome remain limited. Here, multi-omics were performed to classify nano-selenium effects on rumen antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) reduction, microbiome, metabolites, and host phenotypes on Hainan Black Goats.

Discriminating prevalent type 2 diabetes among community-dwelling older adults with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: a comparative analysis of 12 insulin resistance surrogates
Abstract Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease frequently coexists with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Because the gold standard for assessing insulin resistance (IR) is difficult to implement in primary care settings, this cross-sectional study aimed to compare the associations and discriminatory ability of 12 surrogate IR indexes for prevalent T2DM among community-dwelling older adults with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease.
Select microbial metabolites promote tau aggregation in a murine tauopathy model
Abstract The gut microbiome is emerging as a modifier of risk for neurodegenerative diseases, but underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we show that the hTau.P301S mouse model for progressive tauopathy develops alterations in the composition and function of the gut microbiome that are not recapitulated in amyloid-based 5xFAD or 3xTg models for Alzheimer’s disease.
Knowledge, attitude, practice and training of inhalation therapy among respiratory nurses: a cross-sectional study on the current status and influencing factors
Abstract Effective inhalation therapy is critical for managing chronic airway diseases, yet improper technique remains prevalent and contributes to poor clinical outcomes. In China, nurses play a central role in patient education. However, the relationship between nurses’ own training and their competency in delivering inhalation therapy education remains underexplored.

Treatment of brain abscess rupturing into ventricle: a case report and literature review
Abstract Brain abscess is a focal intraparenchymal infection. Brain abscess breaking into ventricles is a potentially fatal complication of brain abscess, which can lead to sudden deterioration of neurological function. Its incidence rate is 0.3%–35.0%, and the mortality rate is 84.0%–100.0%. This paper reports a case of a 50-year-old male patient who had previously undergone intracranial hematoma evacuation and skull fixation for traumatic brain injury.
