Editorial: Parasite-induced liver diseases, volume II
Parasitic infections remain a major cause of liver disease worldwide, contributing substantially to the global burden of cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and hepatocellular carcinoma (). The liver, with its unique tolerogenic properties and continuous exposure to gut-derived antigens, provides an immunological niche that many parasites exploit to establish chronic infection.
Therapy of allergic rhinitis using ribavirin spray to clear nasal commensal viruses
|
Abstract Much attention has focused on commensal bacteria in health and disease, but the role of commensal viruses is largely unexplored. Although commensal viruses are suggested in some organs such as intestine to maintain tissue homeostasis, it is unknown whether they participate in the physiology or pathology of nose, which directly contacts outer environment.

Improving Bridge Inspection Performance with an Efficient UAV-Based Automated Defect Detection System
Practical Applications This unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based inspection system offers direct operational benefits to bridge maintenance agencies. By integrating the proposed detection model with a low-cost UAV platform (total hardware cost under $1,500), inspectors can conduct preliminary screenings without expensive under-bridge inspection vehicles ($2,000–$5,000 per day) or traffic-disrupting road closures.
Lipid-induced granules in hepatocytes alleviate liver fibrosis
Molecular cloning of genes Related genes and their corresponding truncates mentioned in this study were PCR-amplified using cDNA templates derived from either mouse liver tissues or HHL5 cells, which were subsequently cloned into pcDNA3.1 vectors with Flag tag. All constructs were verified by DNA sequencing to ensure sequence fidelity.

Study on risk factors for postoperative cough in children with hypertrophy of tonsils and adenoids
Introduction Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) in children is classified based on the degree of upper airway narrowing and the limitation of gas exchange, representing a continuous disease spectrum. It progresses from initial primary snoring to upper airway resistance syndrome, and ultimately to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Relevant studies indicate that the prevalence of snoring in children is 8%, with approximately 1%–4% progressing to obstructive sleep apnea (1).
QFI‐Opt: Communication‐Efficient Quantum Federated Learning via Quantum Fisher Information

Frontiers | Case Report: Prosthetic revision due to aseptic loosening following total knee arthroplasty: a clinical management and pathological mechanism investigation
1 Introduction Total joint arthroplasty (TJA) is the gold standard for treating end-stage joint diseases such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Globally, approximately 1.5 million TJA procedures are performed annually, with a 25%–30% annual growth rate in China (1). However, aseptic loosening is a major long-term complication, affecting 10%–15% of patients within 15–20 years postoperatively, primarily due to wear particle-induced aseptic inflammatory osteolysis (incidence >10%) (1).

Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have emerged as highly promising materials for optoelectronic applications, with all-inorganic MHPs presenting enhanced stability compared to their hybrid counterparts. Here, we investigate the atomic dynamics and structural fluctuations in single crystals of and through systematic inelastic neutron scattering (INS) measurements as a function of temperature.
Multiple-omics analyses of the Alviniconcha holobiont reveal multi-faceted adaptations to deep-sea hydrothermal vents
Abstract Deep-sea hydrothermal vents are extreme environments with constantly fluctuating physicochemical conditions - but dense animal aggregations thrive primarily through symbiosis with chemoautotrophic bacteria to exploit the unusual chemistry. Alviniconcha snails, which harbor symbionts in their enlarged gill at an intracellular-extracellular intermediate state, are a prime example. Here, we present chromosome-level genomes of two Alviniconcha species (A. adamantis and A.

Coordinated Role of Autophagy and ERAD in Maintaining Neuroendocrine Function by Preventing Prohormone Aggregation
1 Introduction Accumulation of protein aggregates is one of the leading factors in neurodegeneration, raiding the brain and killing neurons.[1] Protein quality control (QC) systems are responsible for monitoring and triaging newly synthesized proteins to ensure proper folding, functioning, or timely degradation to prevent protein misfolding or aggregation.[2] As large amounts of newly synthesized proteins are misfolding-prone,[3] the protein QC process must function as housekeeping mechanism...

An Innovative Online Adaptive High-Efficiency Controller for Micro Gas Turbine: Design and Simulation Validation
1. Introduction Micro gas turbines (MGTs) have the advantages of fast start-up [1], high fuel diversity [2], and easy integration and expansion, and they are widely used in distributed energy supply [3], smart microgrids [4,5], military power [6], ship power [7], etc. In the early days, the MGT was usually less efficient than the internal combustion engine due to material limitations, inefficient gearboxes, and not being equipped with a recuperator [8].
Charge-based immunoreceptor signalling in health and disease - Nature Reviews Immunology
Abstract Immunoreceptors have crucial roles in sensing environmental signals and initiating immune responses to protect the host. Dysregulation of immunoreceptor signalling can therefore lead to a range of diseases, making immunoreceptor-based therapies a promising frontier in biomedicine. A common feature of various immunoreceptors is the basic-residue-rich sequence (BRS), which is a largely unexplored aspect of immunoreceptor signalling.

Multiple Lattice Instabilities and Complex Ground State in ${\mathrm{Cs}}_{2}{\mathrm{Ag}\mathrm{Bi}\mathrm{Br}}_{6}$
Popular Summary Metal halide perovskites exhibit outstanding properties, enabling applications in high performance solar cells and optoelectronic devices. Additionally, these materials have unusual thermal properties (ultralow thermal conductivities, huge thermal expansion coefficients, and strongly dependent electronic properties), which are thought to arise from their very soft crystal lattice.

Stable and Fast Deep Mutual Information Maximization Based on Wasserstein Distance
1. Introduction Unsupervised learning is a machine learning (ML) training method, which is essentially a statistical means to discover underlying structures or attributes on unlabeled datasets. Since unsupervised learning methods have the advantage of training networks without labeled data, it appears to be crucial for large-scale data collection and is of great importance to facilitate the development of artificial intelligence.
