1 Introduction In Europe, the energy sector is responsible for over 75 % $\%$ of greenhouse gas emissions, making it a critical focus for climate action. To address this, Europe has set ambitious targets to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 % $\%$ by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2050 (Maduta et al. 2023). Reaching these goals requires renewable sources to play a larger role in the distribution of modes of energy generation.
First-principles investigation of optical and thermoelectric properties of Na2InCu(F/Cl)6 double perovskites for energy harvesting devices
The continuous increase in the global population has significantly heightened the demand for traditional energy resources [1], [2]. The overexploitation of fossil fuels has caused severe environmental pollution and an impending scarcity of energy supplies. To address these challenges, considerable efforts are being directed toward the development of clean and environmentally friendly renewable energy sources [3], [4].

Glycine grafted metal organic framework boosting Li+ diffusion kinetics towards high-stability lithium metal anode
With the fast development of electronic devices, the supporting batteries with high energy density are required badly [1], [2], [3], [4]. Lithium metal battery (LMB) system has been considered as the one of most promising next-generation battery systems since its Li anode has a superhigh theoretical specific capacity (3860 mAh g–1), a super-negative electrode potential (−3.04 V vs.
Optimisation of extraction performance for uranium with covalent organic frameworks of β-ketoenamines with different functional groups
Nuclear energy is a clean energy source that is in line with “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” and is also a key driver of the green energy transition[1], [2], [3]. Uranium is a critical raw material for the nuclear industry, with terrestrial uranium mines being the world's primary source of uranium fuel[4], [5]. The rapid development of the nuclear industry has led to a situation where the demand for uranium far exceeds the available supply.
Skeleton design engineering of covalent organic frameworks to enable in situ incorporation of coordination sites for improved extraction of uranyl ions
With global environmental pollution and climate change escalating due to fossil energy consumption, there is a growing need for clean energy solutions to address worldwide energy deficits [1], [2], [3]. As a prominent example of clean power, nuclear energy is considered the most favorable substitute for fossil fuels due to its remarkably high energy density and minimal carbon dioxide emissions [4], [5].
Elucidating the roles of collision energy and photon momentum transfer in the formation of ultralong-range Rydberg molecules
Spectroscopic measurements of the rotational distribution of Sr84 and Sr865sns1S0 ultralong-range Rydberg molecular dimers created via photoassociation in a cold gas are reported. The dimers are produced by two-photon excitation via the 5s5p P11 intermediate state.

We experimentally investigate the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) Hamiltonian using Rydberg-atom synthetic dimensions constructed, in a single atom, from a ladder of six neighboring nS13 Rydberg states in which adjacent states are coupled with two-photon transitions using microwave fields.
Plasma cell-free DNA as a monitoring tool for high-risk pregnancies associated with antiphospholipid syndrome
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPLs) that interact with phospholipids and phospholipid-binding proteins on the cell surface, leading to the activation of endothelium, platelets, and leukocytes [1]. Reported prevalence rates of APS suggest approximately 50 cases per 100,000 individuals, with published estimates of annual incidence range from 2 to 80 cases per 100,000 [2,3].
Nanofluids with superhydrophobic nanoparticles for improved depressurization mechanism in low permeability reservoirs
Low-permeability reservoirs are rich in oil resources, accounting for two-thirds of China's oil reserves, and are gradually becoming the focus of reservoir development [1], [2]. The inherently challenging nature of low-permeability reservoirs, characterized by small pore throats, high capillary pressure, and low permeability, presents significant obstacles to efficient energy extraction [3].

A simple and sensitive colorimetric approach for mecA gene analysis via exonuclease-III catalyzed signal cascade
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) associated invasive infections have been estimated to account over 20 % impact on mortality worldwide [1,2]. MRSA is the primary cause of severe nosocomial and hospital infections because it is resistant to all forms of penicillin and other -lactam medicines [3,4]. Detecting MRSA at the time of intensive care unit (ICU) admission is crucial for infection control and preventing the use of ineffectual empirical treatments [5,6].

Elastic criterion for shear-banding instability in amorphous solids
Abstract In amorphous solids, plastic flow is prone to localization into shear bands via an avalanche of shear-transformation (ST) rearrangements of constituent atoms or particles. However, such banding instability still remains a lack of direct experimental evidence. Using a real 3D colloidal glass under shear as proof of principle, we study STs’ avalanches into shear banding that is controlled by strain rates.

Deterministic bidirectional communication and remote entanglement generation between superconducting qubits
Abstract We propose and experimentally demonstrate an efficient scheme for bidirectional and deterministic photonic communication between two remote superconducting modules. The two chips, each consists of a transmon, are connected through a one-meter long coaxial cable that is coupled to a dedicated “communication” resonator on each chip. The two communication resonators hybridize with a mode of the cable to form a dark “communication mode” that is highly immune to decay in the coaxial cable.
LncRNA ZFAS1 as a SERCA2a Inhibitor to Cause Intracellular Ca2+ Overload and Contractile Dysfunction in a Mouse Model of Myocardial InfarctionNovelty and Significance
Methods and Results: ZFAS1 expression was robustly increased in cytoplasm and sarcoplasmic reticulum in a mouse model of MI and a cellular model of hypoxia. Knockdown of endogenous ZFAS1 by virus-mediated silencing shRNA partially abrogated the ischemia-induced contractile dysfunction. Overexpression of ZFAS1 in otherwise normal mice created similar impairment of cardiac function as that observed in MI mice.
Phase nucleation through confined spinodal fluctuations at crystal defects evidenced in Fe-Mn alloys
For studying these effects, we homogenized the Fe-9 at.% Mn alloy at 1100 °C and then quenched and cold-rolled it to 50% reduction in order to increase the dislocation and interface density. The alloy was annealed at 450 °C for 6 h and subsequently analyzed by APT (see Methods section). The APT reconstruction of a typical dataset, shown in Fig. 1a, reveals structural defects decorated with solute Mn: elongated, tubular features corresponding to dislocations34 and two grain boundaries.
Thermal pain tolerance and pain rating in normal subjects: Gender and age effects
