Integrating piecewise multilevel modeling and interactive visualization to examine caregiver burden in Lewy body dementia
Abstract Background Family caregivers of people with Lewy body dementia (LBD) experience substantial psychological distress. This study examined psychological predictors of caregiver burden and integrated interactive visualization to interpret longitudinal findings. Methods Secondary data were analyzed from the eight-week, single-arm pre–post Virtual Online Communities for Aging Life Experiences Lewy Body Dementia (VOCALE-LBD) intervention.
Cluster investigation report: a probable urine-associated transmission event of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome—a case report
Abstract Introduction: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging tick-borne viral disease with a high case fatality rate. Human-to-human transmission has been increasingly documented, primarily through direct contact with blood or bloody secretions. On June 21, 2025, a case of SFTS was reported in Zhumadian City, Henan Province.
Monomer Molecule Reconstruction Engineered Heterogeneous Lithium-Ion Solvation for High-Performance Lithium-Metal Batteries
1 Introduction Driven by the global paradigm shift toward sustainable energy, high-energy-density batteries have become imperative, particularly for electric vehicles (EVs) and grid-scale energy storage [1-3]. Lithium (Li) is regarded as the “holy grail” anode material for next-generation high-energy-density Li batteries owing to its lowest electrochemical potential (−3.04 V vs. standard hydrogen electrode) and high specific capacity (3860 mAh g−1) [4].

Background: This study aimed to investigate the incidence and risk factors of urosepsis following laparoscopic urological surgery, develop a predictive nomogram, and evaluate the association between postoperative urosepsis and acute kidney injury (AKI). Methods: This retrospective analysis was performed on 426 consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic urological surgery between March 2020 and August 2025.

Spintronics in cluster-assembled one-dimensional materials with a screw dislocation
Abstract Integrating pronounced spin-orbit coupling (SOC) with broken inversion symmetry opens unprecedented routes to spintronic functionalities. As an alternative to atomic crystal, cluster assembly allows functional materials with tailored properties to be created through precise structural design.
Long-distance lanthanide migration regulated by interfacial lattice strain in nanostructures
Abstract Interfacial strain engineering by controlling lattice mismatch holds implications for both fundamental studies and technological applications of heterostructured nanomaterials. However, defining its role remains challenging because the type, magnitude, and spatial distribution of strain are difficult to regulate at the nanoscale.
Changes in frailty and incident risk of degenerative bone and joint diseases and their multimorbidity: a prospective cohort study
Abstract Background: Frailty reflects multisystem physiological vulnerability and has been associated with an array of adverse health outcomes. However, evidence on how frailty and its longitudinal changes relate to degenerative bone and joint diseases (DBJDs) and their multimorbidity remains limited. Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study using data from the UK Biobank (UKB). Frailty was evaluated using a validated frailty index (FI).
Longer leukocyte telomere length increases the odds of premature rupture of membranes: a cross-sectional study based on UK Biobank
Abstract This study aimed to explore the association between leukocyte telomere length (LTL) and premature rupture of membranes (PROM). This cross-sectional study included a total of 170,841 participants from the UK Biobank. Restricted cubic spline model (RCS) and logistic regression were used to evaluate the relationship between LTL and PROM. Subgroup analysis and interaction tests were conducted to test the stability of the results.

When strong forcing fails to raise turbidity: a regime-based diagnosis of state dependence in the Minjiang River Estuary from Sentinel−2 (2017–2025)
Abstract Understanding how turbidity in river-delta estuaries responds to short-term atmospheric variability is central to navigation, water quality, and ecosystem risk assessments. A widespread working assumption in many impact and hazard frameworks is that forcing–response mappings are approximately stationary: similar atmospheric forcing should, on average, yield comparable turbidity responses.
A generalizable eye disease detection method based on Zero-Shot Learning
Abstract Deep learning faces a significant bottleneck in medical image analysis due to its reliance on large-scale, expert-annotated datasets. This challenge is acute in ophthalmology, particularly for detecting early-stage diseases like mild Diabetic Retinopathy (DR1), where subtle lesions and a scarcity of annotations limit supervised learning approaches. We propose a generalizable eye disease detection framework based on Zero-shot Learning (ZSL) that mimics clinical reasoning.

The impact of COVID-19 on recovery in Henoch-Schönlein purpura patients: a cross-sectional questionnaire study during a distinctive period
1 Introduction The rising incidence of infectious diseases underscores the critical need for vaccination as a means to control viral transmission (1). The vaccination strategies implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic underscore the pivotal role of preventive measures in epidemic management. Despite inherent disparities in vaccination rates across different populations, these variations can amplify health risks during disease outbreaks (2).

Subsoil structure at the Chang’E-6 landing site revealed by in-situ Lunar Regolith Penetrating Radar - Communications Earth & Environment
Abstract As humanity’s first sample return mission from the lunar farside, China’s Chang’E-6 mission provides a unique window into understanding the dichotomy in lunar nearside-farside evolution. Chang’E-6 landed in the southwestern Apollo basin (~2.79 Ga) within the South Pole–Aitken basin, providing a valuable record of early solar system impacts.
Robust and Sparse PCA for High‐Dimensional Data via Huber Loss and Non‐Convex Regularization
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is a popular technique for dimension reduction, but the conventional PCA approach includes many irrelevant variables in the estimates of the principal components (PCs). This makes it difficult to interpret the PCs, especially with a large number of variables. To enhance interpretability, various sparse PCA approaches have been proposed.
