The lactate-FoxO1 axis drives senescence of CD4 + PD-1 + T cells and rheumatoid arthritis progression
Abstract Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disease characterized by persistent synovitis, joint destruction, metabolic reprogramming, and premature immune senescence. Despite the established link between serum lactate and disease activity, the specific mechanisms by which this metabolite drives T cell senescence remain poorly understood.

Regional embeddedness and ownership of football clubs in Russia: deinstitutionalisation towards a market approach?
ABSTRACT Ownership of football clubs in the Russian Premier League (RPL) is predominantly vested in regional authorities and state-owned enterprises (SOEs). These arrangements have compromised the quality of both the RPL and the national team. Consequently, there are growing calls for the RPL clubs to transition towards a market-oriented governance model.

Recent advances in the development of GRK2 inhibitors: blocking the interaction of GRK2 with its partners
Abstract G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2) is a key player in signal transduction and contains an N-terminus, a kinase domain (KD) and a C-terminus. Changes in the configuration of GRK2 regulate its allosteric effects, including KD closure and protein binding, and the interaction between the KD and the pleckstrin homology (PH) domain modulates the kinase activity of GRK2.

Diversification of the 10th core atom of 9-cyanopyronins expands the resonance Raman vibrational palette
Abstract 9-Cyanopyronin derivatives have been used as resonance Raman probes for highly sensitive and multiplexed vibrational biological imaging. Here, we synthesized a series of fourteen 9-cyanopyronin derivatives in which the 10th core atom is substituted with various group 13, 14, 15 or 16 elements, and systematically evaluated their properties using electronic pre-resonance stimulated Raman scattering (EPR-SRS) microscopy.

Microplastics-biofilm interactions in biofilm-based wastewater treatment processes: A review
Plastic products are widely used due to their excellent performance and low cost. In 2021, global plastics production reached a remarkable volume of 390.7 million metric tons, reflecting a significant escalation of four percent compared to the previous year (Plastics - the Facts, 2022). However, there are challenges for proper recycling and management after plastic products are discarded.

Complete chloroplast genomes of the hemiparasitic genus Cymbaria: Insights into comparative analysis, development of molecular markers, and phylogenetic relationships
1 INTRODUCTION Chloroplasts are semiautonomous organelles that carry out photosynthesis in green plants. Chloroplast genome typically exhibits maternal inheritance, which differentiates it from the biparentally inherited nuclear genome (Birky, 1995). Generally, autotrophic plants are highly conserved in the chloroplast genomes (Wicke et al., 2011).

A seven-sex species recognizes self and non-self mating-type via a novel protein complex
eLife assessment This fundamental study provides insight into the fascinating process of self- and non-self-recognition in the protist Tetrahymena thermophila, a species with seven distinct mating types. Using an elegant combination of phenotypic assays, protein studies, and imaging, the authors present convincing evidence that a large multifunctional protein complex at the cell surface mediates both self- and non-self mating-type recognition.

A seven-sex species recognizes self and non-self mating-type via a novel protein complex
Abstract Although most species have two sexes, multisexual species (i.e., those with multiple mating types) are also widespread. However, it is unclear how mating-type recognition is achieved at the molecular level in multisexual species. The unicellular ciliate Tetrahymena thermophila has seven mating types, which are determined by the MTA and MTB proteins.

USP1 promotes cholangiocarcinoma progression by deubiquitinating PARP1 to prevent its proteasomal degradation - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Despite its involvement in various cancers, the function of the deubiquitinase USP1 (ubiquitin-specific protease 1) is unexplored in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). In this study, we provide evidence that USP1 promotes CCA progression through the stabilization of Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1), consistent with the observation that both USP1 and PARP1 are upregulated in human CCA.

The Characteristics of Soil C, N and P and Stoichiometric Ratios as Affected by Land-Use in a Karst Area, Southwest China
Abstract : Chemometric analysis is often used as an effective indicator of the supply capacity of nutrients in soil–plant systems and their biogeochemical cycles. Understanding ecological stoichiometric characteristics of C, N and P in soils under various land uses is crucial to guide ecological restoration and agricultural cultivation in karst rocky desertification region. However, data on ecological stoichiometry at different land uses in karst areas is limited.

A Universal Microscopic Patterned Doping Method for Perovskite Enables Ultrafast, Self‐Powered, Ultrasmall Perovskite Photodiodes
Abstract Novel metal halide perovskite is proven to be a promising optoelectronic material. However, fabricating microscopic perovskite devices is still challenging because the perovskite is soluble with the photoresist, which conflicts with conventional microfabrication technology. The size of presently reported perovskite devices is about 50 µm. Limited by the large size of perovskite optoelectronic devices, they cannot be readily adopted in the fields of imaging, display, etc.

Gate tunability of the superconducting state at the $\mathrm{EuO}/\mathrm{KTa}{\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ (111) interface
Abstract The recent discovery of superconducting interfaces in the KTaO3 (111)-based heterostructures is intriguing, since a much higher superconducting critical temperature (TC;∼2K) is achieved compared to that in the SrTiO3 heterostructures (∼300 mK). In this paper, we report the superconducting properties of the EuO/KTaO3 (111) interface as a function of the interface carrier density (ns). The maximum TC is observed to be ∼2 K at ns∼1×1014cm–2.
Two-dimensional superconductivity and anisotropic transport at KTaO3 (111) interfaces
A superconducting interface Interfaces between materials can harbor quantum states that belong to neither of the materials. A classic example is the superconducting interface between two insulating oxides, LaAlO3 and SrTiO3, with a critical temperature of around 200 millikelvin. Liu et al. observed superconductivity at a different interface—formed between KTaO3 as a substrate and an overlayer of either EuO or LaAlO3—at a considerably higher temperature of about 2 kelvin.
Two-dimensional superconductivity and anisotropic transport at KTaO3 (111) interfaces
Abstract The unique electronic structure found at interfaces between materials can allow unconventional quantum states to emerge. Here we report on the discovery of superconductivity in electron gases formed at interfaces between (111) oriented KTaO3 and insulating overlayers of either EuO or LaAlO3. The superconducting transition temperature, approaching 2.2 K, is about one order of magnitude higher than that of the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 system.

Effectively enhancing the enantioseparation ability of β-cyclodextrin derivatives by de novo design and molecular modeling
Rationally engineering the native ?-CD as an ideal chiral selector for a definite analyte in capillary electrophoresis represents a challenge in separation science. In this paper, a rational, systematic strategy combined de novo design and molecular modeling is firstly described to expedite the manipulation and selection of effective selector for enantioseparation in capillary electrophoresis.
The Projection of a Test Genome onto a Reference Population and Applications to Humans and Archaic Hominins.
We introduce a method for comparing a test genome with numerous genomes from a reference population. Sites in the test genome are given a weight, w, that depends on the allele frequency, x, in the reference population. The projection of the test genome onto the reference population is the average weight for each x, [Formula: see text]. The weight is assigned in such a way that, if the test genome is a random sample from the reference population, then [Formula: see text].
