Early prediction of sepsis in critically ill trauma patients using machine learning: a MIMIC-IV-based cohort study
Abstract This study aimed to develop and validate machine learning (ML) models for the early prediction of incident sepsis in critically ill trauma patients using the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV (MIMIC-IV) database. Adult trauma patients with an intensive care unit (ICU) stay of at least 24 h were analysed, excluding those with sepsis or suspected infection during the first 24 h.
Mast Cell–Microglia Crosstalk Drives Aberrant Synaptic Pruning Through PAR-2/MAPK/NF-κB Signaling in Neonatal Hypoxic–Ischemic Encephalopathy
1 Introduction Neonatal hypoxic–ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a brain injury disease resulting from the disruption of cerebral blood flow and oxygen supply during birth. It is one of the most common acquired brain injuries in newborns and remains a leading cause of long-term neurodevelopmental impairment [1]. However, the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neural injury in HIE have not been fully elucidated.
Liposomal mitoxantrone, venetoclax and azacitidine in relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukaemia and early induction failure: a single-centre real-world study
Abstract Introduction: Patients with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukaemia have poor outcomes, particularly after failure of venetoclax-based therapy. Methods: We retrospectively analysed 16 adults with relapsed/refractory AML or early induction failure who received liposomal mitoxantrone, venetoclax and azacitidine (MVA) at a single centre between March 2024 and August 2025.

Frontiers | Relationship between hemoglobin and red blood cell distribution width ratio and albuminuria in the United States adults aged 20 years and above: a cross-sectional analysis
1Department of Endocrinology & Rheumatology, Shanghai University of Medicine & Health Sciences Affiliated Zhoupu Hospital, Shanghai, China 2Graduate School, Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, Harbin, China Objective: Hemoglobin to red blood cell distribution width ratio (HRR) is a novel prognostic indicator of disease, and is also associated with a variety of chronic systemic diseases. However, there are fewer studies on the relationship between HRR and albuminuria.
Affinity-tuned mesothelin CAR T cells demonstrate enhanced targeting specificity and reduced off-tumor toxicity
Abstract The application of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy in solid tumors is hindered by life-threatening toxicities resulting from on-target, off-tumor killing of nonmalignant cells that express low levels of the target antigen. Mesothelin (MSLN) has been identified as a target antigen for CAR T cell treatment of mesothelioma, lung, ovarian, and other cancers because of its high expression on tumor cells and limited expression on mesothelial cells.

Fast and accurate extraction of ultrahigh quality factors from cavity ringdown measurement
Cavity ringdown spectroscopy is an essential test to measure ultrahigh quality factor (UHQ) optical cavities, which is, however, frequently misinterpreted due to lack of a specified analysis guideline. Here we clarify the basic property of cavity ringdown and present a step-by-step method that enables extraction of the overall quality factor, as well as the intrinsic loss and coupling state of UHQ cavities with better fidelity and simplicity than prior schemes.
Interface engineering of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3−δ/Gd0.1Ce0.9O1.95 heterostructure oxygen electrode for solid oxide electrolysis cells with enhanced CO2 electrolysis performance
In the process of establishing a sustainable energy economy, the global consensus emphasizes the development of carbon–neutral technologies for the effective utilization of CO2. Currently, solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOEC) stand out as an exceptionally promising approach for electrochemically transforming CO2 to CO, owing to their remarkable selectivity and Faraday efficiency [1].

Highly specific noninvasive photoacoustic and positron emission tomography of brain plaque with functionalized croconium dye labeled by a radiotracer
High-efficient targeting probes are desirable for disease diagnosis and functional imaging. However, most current near-infrared (NIR) probes suffer from low signal conversion, insufficient photostability, poor probe specificity, and limited functions. Herein, an NIR ultrahigh absorbing croconium dye for amyloid (CDA) was designed and synthesized to specifically bind to cerebrovascular amyloid without antibody linkage.
