Multi-omic analysis of jaw-bone periosteum identifies the role of macrophage-derived SPP1 in Ctsk + Fmod + periosteal cells
Abstract Periosteal cells (PCs) play a crucial role in bone regeneration. Currently, the spatial landscapes of jaw-bone periosteum during bone grafting remains unclear. In this study, we propose a modified guided bone regeneration (GBR) model and integrate single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics (ST) to dissect its spatial characteristics. We identify a functional subset of Ctsk+Fmod+ PCs within the jaw-bone periosteum of rat and human.
Feeding rates in sessile versus motile ciliates are hydrodynamically equivalent
eLife Assessment This important paper addresses the role of fluid flows in nutrient uptake by microorganisms propelled by the action of cilia or flagella. Using a range of mathematical models for the flows created by such appendages, the authors provide convincing evidence that the two strategies of swimming and sessile motion can be competitive. These results will have significant implications for our understanding of the evolution of multicellularity in its various forms.

A novel anaerobic membrane bioreactor with magnetotactic bacteria for organic sulfur pesticide wastewater treatment: Improvement of enzyme activities, refractory pollutants removal and methane yield
Pesticides are widely applied to eliminate or control diseases, insects, weeds and other hazardous organisms, which harm agriculture and forestry. According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the national production of chemical pesticide prodrugs (100 % active ingredient) was 3.723 Mt in 2023, with an increase of 49.1 % from 2022 [1].

ASIP Performance Enhancement by Hazard Control through Scoreboard
1. Introduction According to John Hennessy’s analysis [1], over the course of more than 50 years’ development, the mainstream future of computing lies in heterogeneous architecture composed by domain-specific processors. These processors are characterized by instruction level acceleration in application domains, custom data types, the use of TCM (Tight Coupled Memory) to accelerate data retrieval, and often programming via DSL (Domain-Specific Language). DSP is a prevalent type of ASIP.

TLR9 activation in large wound induces tissue repair and hair follicle regeneration via γδT cells - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract The mechanisms underlying tissue repair in response to damage have been one of main subjects of investigation. Here we leverage the wound-induced hair neogenesis (WIHN) models in adult mice to explore the correlation between degree of damage and the healing process and outcome.
Optical Amplification at 1.5 µm in ErIII Coordination Polymer‐Doped Waveguides Based on Intramolecular Energy Transfer
1 Introduction Erbium-doped optical waveguide amplifiers (EDWAs) can compensate for optical losses and play a key role in planar photonic integration. They are integrated with other active and passive optical waveguide devices, including arrayed waveguide gratings, micro-ring resonators, and Mach–Zehnder modulators, to achieve an optical amplification of 1.5 µm. Conventionally, Er3+ ions are doped into various hosts as gain media for fabricating waveguide amplifiers.
Feeding Rates of Sessile and Motile Ciliates are Hydrodynamically Equivalent
Abstract Motility endows microorganisms with the ability to swim to nutrient-rich environments, but many species are sessile. Existing hydrodynamic arguments in support of either strategy, to swim or to attach and generate feeding currents, are often built on a limited set of experimental or modeling assumptions.

Hydrodynamic bound states of rotating microcylinders in a confining geometry
Many microswimmers propel themselves by rotating microcylindrical organelles such as flagella or cilia. These cylindrical organelles almost never live in free space, yet their motions in a confining geometry can be counterintuitive. For example, one of the intriguing yet classical results in this regard is that a rotating cylinder next to a plane wall does not generate any net force in Newtonian fluids and therefore does not translate.
Integrated-omics profiling unveils the disparities of host defense to ECM scaffolds during wound healing in aged individuals.
Abstract Extracellular matrix (ECM) scaffold membranes have exhibited promising potential to better the outcomes of wound healing by creating a regenerative microenvironment around. However, when compared to the application in younger individuals, the performance of the same scaffold membrane in promoting re-epithelialization and collagen deposition was observed dissatisfying in aged mice.

Tracing immune cells around biomaterials with spatial anchors during large-scale wound regeneration - Nature Communications
Abstract Skin scarring devoid of dermal appendages after severe trauma has unfavorable effects on aesthetic and physiological functions. Here we present a method for large-area wound regeneration using biodegradable aligned extracellular matrix scaffolds. We show that the implantation of these scaffolds accelerates wound coverage and enhances hair follicle neogenesis.

Phosphine‐Manipulated p‐π and π‐π Synergy Enables Efficient Ultralong Organic Room‐Temperature Phosphorescence
Graphical Abstract Room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) with p-π and π-π synergy is realized by combining phosphine and carbazole groups in three hybrid molecules (xCzTPP). The harmonized p-electronic feature and steric effect of the phosphine group result in RTP efficiency and lifetime of para-substituted pCzTPP up to 13.8 % and 645 ms, respectively, owing to its sequential and complementary triplet p-π and π-π components in intersystem crossing and triplet energy-transfer processes.
