Multi-omic characterization of nasopharyngeal carcinoma delineates the subtype-specific landscape of response to induction chemotherapy
Abstract Gemcitabine and cisplatin (GP) serve as first-line induction chemotherapy (IC) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), yet predictive markers are lacking. Here we performed multi-omics profiling, including proteomics, phosphoproteomics, genomics and transcriptomics, on 240 patients with NPC who were receiving GP-IC or concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) alone. Through multi-omic integration, we identified three proteomic subtypes with distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
Enzymatically Synthesized Poly(amino-co-ester) Polyplexes for Systemic Delivery of pcDNA-miRNA-214 to Suppress Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastasis
Liver metastases from colorectal cancer (CRC) are the major cause of cancer-related deaths in CRC patients. In our previous study, microRNA-214 (miR-214) was identified in CRC patients as a novel regulator of CRC liver metastasis, which could be serve as a therapeutic target to inhibit the CRC proliferation and metastasis. In this study, we aim to develop a new CRC treatment strategy based on miR-214 gene therapy using biodegradable non-viral gene vector.
Microarray Expression Profiling of Long Non-Coding RNAs Involved in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Metastasis
Increasing evidence has demonstrated a significant role for long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in tumorigenesis. However, their functions in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) metastasis remain largely unknown. In this study, a model comparing high and low metastatic NPC cell lines (5-8F vs. 6-10B and S18 vs. S26) was constructed to determine the expression profile of lncRNAs using the microarray analysis, and we found 167 lncRNAs and 209 mRNAs were differentially expressed.
