Coalbed methane (CBM) is an unconventional natural gas resource. The commonly used technologies for CBM mining include drainage depressurization, hydraulic fracturing, horizontal wells, and gas displacement. (1−3) Recently, many scholars have reported that injecting heat to increase CBM production (4) is a highly promising way to increase CBM production. How can clean and efficient heat be obtained by injecting heat to increase CBM production? Infrared radiation heating (IRH) is a good method.
