Multiscale mechanical behavior of the Qiongzhusi Formation shale
Abstract The Qiongzhusi Formation shale has attracted significant attention due to its vast mining potential; its macroscopic failure behavior is fundamentally governed by its microstructural characteristics and compositional evolution. This study employs a combined approach of laboratory testing and theoretical analysis to investigate the cross-scale mechanical correlations of the Qiongzhusi Formation shale.
Electrical Engineering and Systems Science > Signal Processing
The mobility of potential eavesdroppers (Eves) poses a critical challenge to physical-layer security (PLS) in integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems, since rapidly varying Eve positions lead to time-varying eavesdropping channels and outdated security decisions. To address this challenge, this paper investigates sensing-driven secure transmission for reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted ISAC systems with a maneuvering Eve.

Medical nutrition therapy in incretin-treated obesity-related heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
Abstract Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists and dual agonists of the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptors, exemplified by semaglutide and tirzepatide, respectively, have reshaped care for obesity-related heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Their benefits extend beyond weight reduction to symptoms and physical function and, for tirzepatide, a lower risk of worsening heart failure.
Anemia, iron deficiency, and blood biomarkers for Alzheimer disease: clinical interpretation and dementia risk stratification
Abstract Anemia and iron deficiency are common in older adults, yet their relevance to blood biomarkers for Alzheimer disease (AD) remains underappreciated. As these biomarkers move into clinical pathways, their interpretation depends not only on assay performance but also on comorbidity, kidney function, inflammation, and nutritional status.
Study on failure mode of multistage slope based on system clustering method
Abstract Because of the particularity of the geometric shape, the failure modes of multistage slope show diversity. In order to solve the problem of failure mode classification, a new multistage slope failure mode classification method based on system clustering method was proposed for the first time.

Resveratrol offers therapeutic potential in obesity-related osteoarthritis by targeting ferroptosis via G3BP1-SGs/mTOR modulation
Abstract The increased ferroptosis by obesity contributes to the progression of osteoarthritis (OA). Resveratrol has protective effects against obesity-related OA. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we investigated the mechanism of resveratrol against obesity-related OA using male C57BL/6 mice and chondrocyte models.

Lactylation at lysine 145 fosters KAT8-TIP60 complex formation to promote p53 acetylation at lysine 120 and its pro-apoptotic function
Abstract p53 is crucial for cellular functions and disease mechanisms, yet effective clinical strategies targeting it remain challenging. Lactylation has emerged as a key factor in understanding disease pathology and offering therapeutic options. Herein, we identify lactylated KAT8 at lysine 145 (K145) as a modulator of p53 activity. GCN5 and SIRT6 function as the acyltransferase and delactylase for KAT8, respectively.

Photoluminescent radiative cooling for aesthetic and urban comfort - Nature Sustainability
Abstract Passive radiative cooling offers a sustainable solution to reduce carbon emissions in space cooling by simultaneously reflecting sunlight and emitting thermal radiation. However, the super-white property of conventional passive radiative cooling materials poses challenges for large-scale urban applications by conflicting with aesthetic requirements and neglecting impacts on urban microclimate and pedestrian thermal and visual comfort.

1 Introduction Gliomas, prevalent malignant central nervous system tumors (Aldape et al. 2019; Molinaro et al. 2019), exhibit complex pathology that contributes to their aggressiveness, rapid progression, and high recurrence rates, complicating treatment (Louis et al. 2007).
Cadherin 11 regulates presynaptic vesicle trafficking and neuronal activity in autism-related brain circuit - Molecular Psychiatry
Abstract The molecular etiology of numerous risk genes for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including Cadherin 11 (CDH11), remains elusive. We investigated the role of CDH11 in the development of ASD-related behaviors using gene-deficient mice. CDH11 is enriched at synapses in glutamatergic neurons of the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), which project to the dorsal striatum, nucleus accumbens, and the basolateral amygdala.

Cardiomyocyte OTUD1 drives diabetic cardiomyopathy via directly deubiquitinating AMPKα2 and inducing mitochondrial dysfunction - Nature Communications
Abstract Deubiquitinating modification of proteins is involved in the pathogenesis of diseases. Here, we investigated the role and regulating mechanism of a deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB), ovarian tumor domain-containing protein 1 (OTUD1), in diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). We find a significantly increased OTUD1 expression in diabetic mouse hearts, and single-cell RNA sequencing shows OTUD1 mainly distributing in cardiomyocytes.
Highly Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance in Halogen Elements Modified SnSe₂ Materials via Point Defects Engineering
Highly Enhanced Thermoelectric Performance in Halogen Elements Modified SnSe₂ Materials via Point Defects Engineering Lead-free SnSe2 materials have intrinsic low thermal conductivities and are promising thermoelectrics. However, their relatively low electrical conductivity limits the improvement of thermoelectric performance. This study successfully introduced halogen elements (X = F, Cl, Br, and I) into SnSe2 to increase carrier concentration for better thermoelectric performance.
