Long-term ecological quality dynamics and spatial associations in arid and semi-arid Northwest China using an adaptive PRSEI
Abstract Long-term ecological monitoring in arid and semi-arid regions requires indices that capture region-specific stressors while remaining comparable through time. We developed an adaptive particular remote-sensing ecological index (PRSEI) for Gansu Province, China, using growing-season kNDVI, wetness (WET), land surface temperature (LST), sandification index (SI), and a PM10-based particulate indicator (TI) from 2000 to 2024.
CircLAMA5 traps Sam68 in the cytoplasm to regulate alternative splicing and drive sunitinib resistance in ccRCC
Abstract Tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) resistance remains a major challenge in the treatment of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), yet the underlying molecular mechanisms are not fully understood. Here, we identify circular RNA circLAMA5 (hsa_circ_0061093) as a critical driver of sunitinib resistance in ccRCC. CircLAMA5 is significantly upregulated in sunitinib‑resistant cell lines and cell‑derived xenografts (CDX-R).
Cognitive and synaptic impairment induced by deficiency of autism risk gene Smarcc2 and its rescue by histone deacetylase inhibition
Abstract SMARCC2, which encodes BAF170, a core subunit of chromatin remodeling BAF complex, is one of the top-ranking risk genes for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, the mechanisms linking SMARCC2 haploinsufficiency to ASD remain poorly understood. ChIP-seq of SMARCC2 demonstrated its binding to many other ASD risk genes involved in transcriptional regulation. SMARCC2 expression was significantly reduced in the nuclear fraction of postmortem prefrontal cortex (PFC) from patients with ASD.
Coupling ecosystem services with machine learning to construct ecological security patterns: a case study of Jiangxi Province, China
Abstract Rapid urbanisation threatens regional sustainability in Jiangxi Province, a critical ecological barrier in southeastern China. This study establishes a high-precision, long-term (2005–2024) Ecological Security Pattern (ESP) framework, addressing conventional limitations in subjective weighting and spatial heterogeneity. Coupling the InVEST model with Morphological Spatial Pattern Analysis (MSPA), we found that ecological sources encompass ~ 40% of the provincial territory.
Breaking the activity-stability trade-off via dual-mechanism induced by rare earths for lasting seawater electrolysis
Abstract Triggering the adsorbate evolution and lattice oxygen mechanisms coupled path holds promise for overcoming the activity-stability trade-off of oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, achieving precise regulation and activation of multiple OER pathways via 3d-metal modification strategy remains challenging due to the external effects of crystal fields and coordination environments.

Nonlinear effect and spatiotemporal heterogeneity of urban resilience on surface urban heat Island in the Guanzhong urban agglomeration
Abstract Amid the dual contexts of rapid urbanization and global warming, the Surface Urban Heat Island (SUHI) effect has been identified as a pivotal climatic issue that poses severe threats to urban sustainable development and public health. Urban Resilience (UR), in turn, has been widely recognized as a systematic and holistic pathway to mitigate the SUHI effect and optimize the urban thermal environment.
The effect of customer incivility on proactive customer service performance mediated by emotional exhaustion and moderated by proactive personality
Abstract The existing body of research offers limited insight into the detrimental effects of incivility phenomena on proactive customer service performance (PCSP) from the customer’s perspective. Drawing on the stressor–strain–outcome (SSO) framework and conservation of resources (COR) theory, this paper examines how customer incivility is associated with PCSP, with a particular focus on emotional exhaustion as a mediator and proactive personality as a moderator.
Colossal Permittivity and Ultra-Low Dielectric Loss Realized in In/Nb Co-Doped TiO 2 Ceramics by Oxygen Vacancy Tailoring
1 Introduction Titanium dioxide TiO2-based ceramics have attracted significant attention in the field of electronic materials owing to their exceptionally high dielectric properties, which are critical for high-capacity, high-end capacitors and energy storage devices [1-4]. The development of titanium dioxide-based materials that simultaneously possess a high dielectric constant, low dielectric loss, and excellent thermal stability remains a critical challenge.

ASCL1 promotes nuclear shrinkage in transdifferentiation by suppressing NUP37
Keywords Direct neuronal reprogramming induced neurons transdifferentiation nuclear shrinkage nuclear pore complex nucleoporin ASCL1 NUP37 Introduction Since the Scottish botanist Robert Brown named the cell nucleus in 1831, we still do not have a clear answer on how nuclear size is regulated. The prevailing thought for more than a century has been that cells maintain a relatively constant nucleocytoplasmic ratio (Cantwell and Nurse, 2019a, 2019b; Webster et al., 2009; Boveri, 1905).

ARMH2 is a cytosolic component of CatSper crucial for sperm function - Nature Communications
Abstract Sperm capacitation and fertilization are highly regulated by Ca2+ signaling. CatSper, a sperm-specific calcium channel, plays a crucial role in sperm hyperactivated motility and fertility by mediating Ca2+ influx into sperm. CatSper is the most complicated ion channel known, comprising the pore-forming CATSPER1-4 and multiple auxiliary subunits. However, our previous structural study of mouse CatSper suggests the presence of potential component(s) that remain to be identified.

Aligning global mercury mitigation with climate action - Nature Communications
Abstract Environmental mercury (Hg) pollution affects microbial community structure and functions. Yet, whether and how this influence cascades through microbe-mediated cycling of major greenhouse gases (GHGs) remains poorly understood. This Perspective synthesizes emerging evidence on the Hg-microbe-GHG nexus, exploring the possibility that global Hg emission reductions, while critical for human and planetary health, may cause alterations to microbe-mediated GHG fluxes.
Elevated SGK1 increases Tau phosphorylation and microtubule instability in Alzheimer’s patient-derived cortical neurons - Molecular Psychiatry
Abstract Hyperphosphorylation of Tau and the ensuing microtubule destabilization are linked to synaptic dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). We find a marked increase of phosphorylated Tau (pTau) in cortical neurons differentiated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) of AD patients.
A terrestrial-marine continuum model for diaspore-dominated karstic bauxite deposits
Global karstic bauxite has long been thought to form in continental weathering environments. Recent micromineralogical studies have also suggested that it may precipitate on karstic surfaces in terrestrial and marine environments. However, this hypothesis lacks robust evidence. This study presents a new terrestrial-marine continuum model for diaspore-dominated karstic bauxite deposits.

Enhancing Methane Production in Anaerobic Digestion of Food Waste Using Co-Pyrolysis Biochar Derived from Digestate and Rice Straw
1. Introduction The rapid growth in the global population has significantly increased the generation of food waste (FW) [1,2], which is projected to rise by 20–68% by 2050 [3]. The complex composition, high moisture content, and substantial organic-matter content of FW pose significant challenges for its treatment and conversion [4]. Currently, most FW is managed through unsustainable methods such as landfilling and incineration [5], contributing to various environmental issues [6,7].
