Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Carl Redfield Jr. was arrested while working at a car dealership last week, on July 24. During a press conference Tuesday, authorities said his "reign of terror" may include multiple female victims. He is accused of at least three sexual assaults. Gonzalez said the case started with a woman coming forward.

Reedy Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church is often referred to as the Mother Church of Texas, a place where the enslaved would gather to worship. "When you walk into Reedy Chapel, there's a presence. You feel the ancestors here in the sanctuary," Rev. Lernette Patterson said. Patterson says it's important to tell the church's history.

AUSTIN, Texas (KTRK) -- Lawmakers in Austin will consider a Galveston father's request to keep habitual drunk drivers behind bars. Reid Nelson is testifying before the Texas House Corrections Committee on Wednesday after his son, 14-year-old Mason Nelson, and another 14-year-old boy, Sam Mixon, were killed by a repeat drunk driver in 2022. A third teen suffered a severe brain injury from that crash. The crash happened in front of Ball High School, where the teens were students.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash in west Houston overnight, police told ABC13. It happened on Highway 6 near Briar Forest, just blocks away from Westside High School, around 11:40 p.m. Sunday. Three vehicles were involved. According to police who looked at security video from a gas station, the wrong-way driver was in a white Ford Crown Victoria northbound on Highway 6 when he began to lose control in the intersection.
