COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - College Station is getting ready to “light up the 4th” with its annual ‘I Heart America’ celebration — and this year’s event is designed to feel bigger, brighter, and more patriotic than ever. College Station Parks and Recreation says the July 4 celebration will lean into the spirit of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary with a full evening of live music, festive touches, and a fireworks finale.

AUSTIN, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) announced Tuesday that a highly pathogenic avian flu was detected in an undisclosed dairy. The samples were submitted to the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory and were confirmed on May 30. This is the first confirmed case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), or H5N1 virus, in Texas dairy cattle this year.

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Summer is here and while many are looking forward to sunny days, several teacher are already looking ahead to the next school year. On Saturday, The Teacher Closet in Bryan opened their doors for donations, accepting gently used items that could be used by teachers for the upcoming school year. From decorations to notebooks to art supplies, the donations will be used to help teachers not just in Aggieland, but across the state.
