PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Students at Brown University were placed in lockdown Saturday evening following a deadly shooting on campus. During a phone call, 12 News spoke with a sophomore as he entered his fifth hour sheltering in place as authorities continued searching for a suspect. Link Lingell told 12 News he and his friends were taking an exam in Page-Robinson Hall around 4 p.m. when they heard sirens passing by. Soon after, they began receiving messages from peers about a possible shooting.

Former RI Lt. Gov. Thomas DiLuglio dies at 93

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Former Rhode Island Lt. Gov. Thomas DiLuglio has died at age 93. His death was confirmed by former Providence Mayor Joe Paolino Jr., a longtime friend. Born in 1931, DiLuglio (pronounced "dih-LOOL-io") grew up in Providence and graduated from Classical High School. He went on to Brown University, where he was a track star, then earned a law degree from Boston University.
