Letter: Decision to fire Forum columnists is flawed
The decision by the Forum to fire three columnists โ Joan Brickner, Jim Shaw and Jack Zaleski โ is flawed and disingenuous at best. All three offered well researched and intelligent arguments. Of course, they offered their bent on the topics which is why they were positioned on the opinion page. People who didn't agree with their perspective could have chosen to not read the columns just as I choose not to read certain columns that the Forum apparently will consider to run.
Letter: Forum editorial was disappointing, but not unexpected
The Forum editorial of Jan. 10, " Fargo should cut these 3 city advisory boards, but don’t stop there ," was disappointing, but not unexpected. At a time when true leadership is needed to address both the opportunities and the challenges in our community, city leaders and The Forum editors would have us go backwards, ignoring the needs of a city that continues to grow and evolve.
Standing with our Somali neighbors
By now, we have all seen the reports of President Trump disparaging our Somali communities — specifically, those in Minnesota — by describing them in a way we won’t repeat in this letter. We believe our faith requires us to speak out when our friends and neighbors are cruelly attacked in such a manner. Every major religious tradition calls us to walk in the ways of love and compassion.
Letter: Gov. Armstrong is redefining autocracy
Just when you think we might be emerging from some form of super majority arrogance, we have Gov. Kelly Armstrong redefining autocracy in the worst of ways. The ND Ethics Commission was established by the vote of the people. Appointments to the commission are made by a committee of three which includes the governor. Murray Sagsveen, a highly respected attorney, was appointed to fill out the remainder of a term. His term was up and a reappointment was necessary.
Letter: Get back to work, Rep. Fedorchak
Recently Rep. Julie Fedorchak sent out an email to constituents which was widely criticized for the incredible amount of misinformation it contained regarding the government shutdown. My message to the representative is: get back to work! Our democracy is a messy process at best, but it does work best when all parties are engaged, ready to discuss differences and to compromise.
Letter: The Forum's editorial about relocating the downtown engagement center was shameful
I am writing to take issue with your editorial of Sep. 27. Once again, The Forum's editorial board has chosen fear over facts in its call to move or shut down the Downtown Engagement Center. I am writing as a taxpayer and as a customer who frequently uses services in downtown Fargo, during the day or the night. Never have I been made to be fearful. In fact, I like to share a story. Last summer I was returning from the Farmer's Market and the front tire on my bicycle went flat.

Evolution of community outreach and engagement at National Cancer Institute‐Designated Cancer Centers, an evolving journey
INTRODUCTION Cancer mortality rates have been declining over the last 28 years,1 however, disparities in cancer care outcomes persist in many historically marginalized communities.
Letter: Koehler's letter about the Fargo School Board and Supt. Gandhi seems meant to conflate and confuse
I wish to respectfully disagree with almost every premise of Ken Koehler’s recent letter to the editor. I do stand in strong support of Supt. Gandhi’s actions regarding establishing the safety of Fargo Public School students as priority No. 1. Premise No. 1: We live in a society governed by the laws. Passed laws do not make them right. We in this country lived under a law of the land making it legal to own other human beings.
Letter: Racist incident at Jamestown basketball game raises so many questions
I have followed coverage and handling of the racist incident at a Bismarck-Jamestown basketball game from the moment it was reported. This was a horrific occurrence at a NDHSAA sanctioned event and I was immediately saddened and outraged that two students and their families had to experience this outpouring of racism. I am writing now after reading the Sunday, March 19 article on how the Jamestown schools have responded to the incident. This whole incident raises so many questions.
Negotiating with the IRS
The main focus of my practice is taxpayer representation involving IRS tax issues and compliance. If I was going to describe something analogous to negotiating with the IRS to alleviate penalties, interest and other issues it would be a marathon. I've run a few of these marathons, Boston included, and if not planned out accordingly there could be some missteps that could cause an undesirable outcome. Go out too fast and you will pay for it in the latter stages.
The power of partnerships, promotion and pledge to drive revenue
Radio is an intimate medium. As listeners, we’ve always known that. And if we work in radio or podcasting, we know that personal connection is everything. The way we make connections that lead to support is just as important as the way we connect through great content. Maybe even more, because money is a delicate subject in most relationships. First, the basics: How effectively is your station using your airtime to promote mechanisms that lead to financial support?

Equality Act Passes in House with Strong Bipartisan Support
North Dakota Human Rights Coalition said they applaud the U.S. House of Representatives quick passage of the Equality Act, a landmark federal law that would protect LGBTQ Americans in virtually all areas of daily life.
Letter: The Fargo School Board made the right call | INFORUM
Letters Wilson in his words and actions set race relations in our country back generations. He was deliberate. He was incredibly cruel in the way that he sought to eliminate whatever progress our country had made since the Emancipation Proclamation. He does not deserve a legacy for education. Written By: Barry Nelson | Nov 1st 2020 - 12pm. × I don't think my message needs to be very complicated or long. A few months ago I was oblivious to the conversation about the naming of buildings, schools, etc.
Letter: The hatred directed towards the LGBTQ community in Minot is unacceptable
North Dakota Human Rights Coalition unequivocally stands in support of the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) community in Minot and throughout North Dakota. Proudly we partner with Magic City Equality and were a sponsor of their recently completed Pride event. We cheered and were encouraged and inspired by the flying of the Pride flag in front of Minot City Hall. We wish to commend city leaders in Minot for their position of inclusion and public acceptance.
Packers Position Breakdown: Guard
Position Grade: A- One of the deepest positions on the team, the Packers have potentially four players to fill two spots. A torn biceps injury saw the reliable Lane Taylor land on injured reserve after 2 games last year. Rookie Elgton Jenkins stepped in and the offensive line didn’t miss a beat. In fact, it improved and with the help of free agent Billy Turner, the Packers ended the season ranked as the 4th best offensive line in the league. There were questions going into the offseason.
Packers Position Breakdown: Tackle
Position Grade: C For the past 7 seasons, Aaron Rodgers knew who his bookends would be protecting his front and his blind side. Now, with the departure of Bryan Bulaga to the LA Chargers, the Packers are looking to find someone that can fill the void. Late in 2019, they claimed Jared Veldheer from New England, seeing action after Bulaga went down with a concussion in week 16. However, the Packers decided not to resign him and are going in a different directions.
