What was your first job as a journalist?

I first started writing at Gamezo in October, 2020. I've recently become an editor for them!

No

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Ron Burgundy for sure

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To me, being a journalist means sharing what I know about the things I write about with whoever wants to read. It's a conversation.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use WordPress, ClickUp, and Feedly quite a lot.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter

Who do you wish followed you?

I would love it if Geoff Keighley followed me on Twitter.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist because it was always my dream to play video games and I can talk endlessly about them. I always loved to writing too!

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

We didn't have a high school newspaper.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I'm most proud of my deep dive on the developers of Genshin Impact, miHoYo. I saw a lot of news about the game but nothing about the devs.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't be afraid to send that tweet. Make connections. This industry rewards perseverance and being proactive.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I'm pretty much available whenever, I try to respond as quickly as I can if I'm not working, sleeping, or driving.

What's your favorite drink?

Cranberry Ginger Ale

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Probably Target. I really like Target.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Paul Tassi's articles on Forbes, the dude is my hero.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

I think the most common misconception about Media is that it's an over saturated profession.
