Functional coupling between MC4R and Kir7.1 contributes to clozapine-induced weight gain in female mice
Abstract Most antipsychotic drugs (APDs) cause hyperphagia and weight gain, yet the neural mechanisms underlying these metabolic side effects remain elusive, in part due to difficulties in modeling them in rodents. Here, we establish a mouse model that recapitulates clozapine-induced metabolic syndrome, enabling mechanistic investigation of this widely prescribed APD.

State-dependent reconfiguration failure of the basal forebrain-cortical gradient in Parkinson’s disease with freezing of gait
Abstract Accumulating evidence implicates cholinergic dysfunction in freezing of gait (FOG) in Parkinson’s disease (PD). Given the basal forebrain (BF) provides the primary cholinergic input to the cortex, elucidating BF-cortical connectivity and its dynamic reconfiguration during motor challenges in PD-FOG is important. This study included 44 PD-FOG, 45 without FOG (PD-NFOG), and 27 healthy controls (HC). All underwent diffusion and resting-state functional MRI.

Carbohydrate-active enzymes of soil prophages enhance global carbon cycling potential
Abstract Recent work suggests that soil-borne viruses play an important role in controlling carbon (C) cycling and stocks. However, the contribution of individual prophage (i.e., temperate phages residing within bacterial hosts during lysogenic cycle) to C degradation remains largely undocumented at global scale.
Mitophagy mitigates mitochondrial DNA-induced activation of cGAS-STING in autoimmune thyroiditis
Abstract Autoimmune thyroiditis arises from disrupted homeostasis of thyroid follicular epithelial cells and coordinated immune cell activation within the microenvironment. However, its pathogenesis is not fully understood. Here, we identify a mitochondrial (mt) DNA-cGAS-STING inflammatory axis as a driver of autoimmune thyroiditis in mice. By contrast, ubiquitin-dependent mitophagy mediated by PINK1 and Parkin was found to protect mice from disease.

Intelligent credit risk assessment for rural small and micro enterprises based on hybrid deep learning architecture
Abstract Rural small and micro enterprises (RSMEs) struggle to borrow, and the reason is rarely a shortage of willing lenders. It is that the information a lender would normally rely on is missing, informal, or simply not written down. Conventional scorecards, built for firms with clean books, tend to falter here, where the data are heterogeneous, riddled with gaps, and shaped by nonlinear risk.

Surface d -orbital order in an intermetallic compound
|
Abstract Orbital order describes a quantum state where occupied orbitals line up in a periodic pattern. Although orbital physics plays a fundamental and universal role in strongly correlated electron systems, the existence and particularly the band-structure fingerprint of orbital order remain a long-standing mystery. Here we report the discovery of rare earth 5d-orbital order developed by the surface states of the intermetallic compound Tb2CoAl4Ge2.

Dynamic monitoring of railway bridges via coupling digital twins with deep reinforcement learning
Abstract Railway-bridge anomaly detection during retrofitting is a core structural health monitoring (SHM) task, requiring timely alarms for safety. It is challenging because responses are strongly nonstationary and distorted by environmental and operational variability, while sensing budgets constrain what can be observed. Classical feature-and-threshold pipelines are interpretable but fragile to operating-condition drift, yielding unstable alarms without compensation.

Age-related loss of Y chromosome is associated with mortality after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Abstract While loss of Y chromosome (LOY), a common somatic alteration with aging, has been associated with cardiovascular diseases, its specific impact on ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains underexplored. This study enrolled 928 males undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention for STEMI to investigate the impact of LOY in blood cells on all-cause mortality. LOY was measured in males using droplet digital polymerase chain reaction technique.
GSK-3 regulates CD4-CD8 cooperation for super-armed CD8+ cytolytic T cells in immunotherapy against tumors
Abstract Although the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) depends on coordinated activity across progenitor and terminal effector CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T-cell compartments, the cell-intrinsic pathways that enable this cooperation remain incompletely defined. Here, we identify glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) as a central regulator of TCF-1⁺ progenitor and memory CD8⁺ T-cell differentiation, where reduced GSK-3 expression enhances antiviral and anti-tumor immunity.
