Construction and validation of a three-dimensional CT spatial localization algorithm for segond fracture based on tibial bony landmarks: an anatomical reference study for AI-assisted preoperative planning
Abstract Background: The clinical translation of AI-assisted surgical navigation and digital twin modeling is hindered by the absence of a standardized, reusable anatomical spatial reference framework, as current one-dimensional or two-dimensional localization methods for the Segond fracture bed inadequately represent three-dimensional bony spatial relationships for intelligent navigation systems.
VMP1 restricts STING trafficking and activation through controlling CDIPT recruitment to ER membrane curvature
Abstract The cGAS-STING signaling serves as a central hub for innate immunity by orchestrating type I interferon production and inflammatory cascades in response to cytosolic DNA. A critical rate-limiting step in this pathway involves STING exit from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), a process initiated by COPII-mediated trafficking that requires ER membrane curvature formation. However, the molecular mechanism that drives this process is poorly understood.
Selective transport of plasma-derived reactive species through the plant aquaporin channels: a molecular dynamics study
Abstract The selective permeability of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), generated by cold atmospheric plasma (CAP), through plant aquaporins was investigated to identify plasma-derived species capable of intracellular delivery. Using atomistic molecular dynamics and enhanced sampling methods, we quantified the free energy profiles of eight RONS (HNO3, HO2, cis-HNO2, trans-HNO2, N2O4, NO, NO2, and O3) across the PIP2;1 aquaporin channel embedded in a lipid bilayer.
Subsidize consumers or service firm? The design of a government subsidy policy for an older adult care service supply chain
Abstract Background: To promote the development of older adult care services, a government can offer two types of subsidy programs: a consumer subsidy policy and a service subsidy policy. Choosing an appropriate subsidy policy to maximize social welfare is a critical decision for the government.
Systemic mapping of senescence characteristics across septic tissues
Abstract Sepsis triggers profound organism-wide disturbances, yet the cellular logic underlying its systemic impact remains poorly defined. By integrating single-cell transcriptomes from six septic tissues, we uncovered a conserved cross-tissue program characterized by inflammation-driven senescence, disrupted intercellular communication, and coordinated transcriptional reprogramming.

DNA hypomethylation of the OLFM1 gene in patients with depression
Abstract Objective: Depression is a heterogeneous psychiatric disorder and a growing public health concern, characterized by its high prevalence, recurrence rate, and association with suicide. There is evidence suggesting that both genetic susceptibility and environmental factors can regulate gene expression through DNA methylation, thereby influencing the occurrence and development of depression. The olfactory sensory neuropeptide 1 (OLFM1) protein is a risk factor for mental disorders.
Observational constraints from global ice-phase fraction indicate moderate climate sensitivity
Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract Cloud feedback remains the largest source of uncertainty in estimates of climate sensitivity. Among its components, the cloud optical depth (τ) feedback acts as a negative feedback that suppresses climate warming, yet it remains poorly constrained by observations.

An NLR–transposase fusion gene from rye provides broadly effective resistance to stripe rust in wheat - Nature Plants
|
Abstract Stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici, is a major threat to global wheat production. To explore new resistance resources, we screened 100 hexaploid triticale accessions using the predominant Chinese P. striiformis f. sp. tritici races CYR32, CYR33 and CYR34 and found that most accessions showed high resistance, with the cultivar Rozovskaya displaying near-immunity. Through map-based cloning, we identified a resistance gene located on chromosome 6RL.

Converging evidence suggests that IBD pathogenesis involves a complex interplay among immune dysregulation, genetic susceptibility, and environmental factors [4].
When fear replaces freedom in Minnesota
Some thoughts on the new dark reality for immigrant communities | By Chen Zhou (Winter 2026) Graphic images by Chen Zhou Two Fridays ago, my wife and I made a decision we never imagined making in America: Wherever we go, we would carry our U.S. passports. Not because it’s normal. Not because it’s required. But because it feels safer. Around the same time, many lawyers began offering unsettling advice to U.S. citizens, such as “Say less,” “Follow instructions,” “Don’t argue”.
Topological feature-driven TabPFN model for prediction of enlarged hemorrhage and edema after tumor resection in meningiomas
Abstract Introduction: Enlarged hemorrhage and edema after tumor resection (EHETR) is a serious postoperative complication in meningiomas. The peritumoral edema (PE) region was reported to be associated with EHETR. Topological data analysis (TDA) has recently emerged as a novel approach providing a multiscale characterization of structural organization. This study aims to assess the feasibility of using topological features extracted from the PE region to predict EHETR.

My second ADU project in the Bay Area (why and how?)
Originally posted by @Hai G.: Thanks for sharing, Chen. Curious what kind of rent are you foreseeing for the new ADU build? Are you doing it for long term rental purposes? I recently completed an ADU build (attached ADU) in one of my properties. While the return is good with that one the prospect has gotten worse with plummeting rent in the Bay Area and higher build cost that I'm not sure if I would build another one. Curious about your thoughts.

Case Report: Unveiling segmental hemodynamic heterogeneity in internal jugular vein stenosis: a patient-specific CFD analysis
Abstract Background and purpose: While non-thrombotic internal jugular vein stenosis (IJVS), predominantly from extrinsic compression, is increasingly linked to cerebral venous outflow insufficiency, its segment-specific pathophysiology remains unclear. Given the distinct J1-J3 anatomy of the internal jugular vein, segment-based characterization may aid management. Case presentation: We retrospectively analyzed five patients with non-thrombotic IJVS affecting different segments and etiologies.
