Dual-oxygen pancreatic cancer organoids recapitulate basal–classical heterogeneity validated by spatial transcriptomics
Abstract Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) comprises heterogeneous classical and basal-like subtypes. Although pancreatic cancer organoids (PCOs) are widely used, normoxic cultures preferentially maintain the classical subtype, limiting their ability to represent intrinsic intratumoral heterogeneity. Because PDAC develops in profoundly hypoxic microenvironments, the influence of oxygen tension on organoid modelling remains unclear.
Longitudinal characterization of COVID-19 across a surveillance transition in Japan: thirteen epidemic waves, 2020–2025
Abstract Long-term comparison of COVID-19 epidemic waves is challenging because surveillance systems and reporting practices change over time. In Japan, official reporting shifted repeatedly between January 2020 and December 2025, from comprehensive nationwide notification to restricted reporting and sentinel-based surveillance. Using publicly available national data on reported cases and deaths, we characterized 13 epidemic waves while explicitly accounting for reporting transitions.
Efficacy and accuracy of the transillumination-guided gastric tube placement in neonates
Abstract To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tumguide®, a radiation-free, transillumination-guided system for gastric tube (GT) placement in neonates. This single-center prospective observational study enrolled neonates requiring GT placement. Tumguide® was used to guide placement. Primary outcomes were intragastric placement success rate and accuracy, defined as radiographically confirmed positioning not requiring adjustment. A total of 71 procedures were performed in 55 neonates.
