Hydrogen sulfide promotes S-sulfhydration of TrxR1 and attenuates diabetic vascular remodeling
Abstract Diabetic vasculopathy represents one of the most serious complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Growing evidence suggests that its pathogenesis is closely linked to chronic inflammation-driven phenotypic switching of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), which under hyperglycemic conditions exhibit heightened proliferative and migratory activity.
Association of the CNP index with mortality risk in patients with pneumonia receiving glucocorticoid therapy
Abstract As a composite index for severe infection, the clinical utility of the C-reactive protein-neutrophil/platelet (CNP) index for predicting mortality in specific patient populations remains unclear. This study evaluated the association between the CNP index and mortality risk in patients with pneumonia who had received glucocorticoid therapy. A dataset including 716 patients with pulmonary infection who had undergone glucocorticoid treatment from the Dryad database was analyzed.

Programmable RNA translation through deep learning-driven IRES discovery and de novo generation
Abstract The precise control of protein expression is a major bottleneck in the development of RNA therapeutics. Internal ribosome entry sites (IRES) overcome traditional limitations by enabling cap-independent translation initiation, making them highly desirable tools for synthetic biology and therapeutic payload expression. However, the complex structure-function relationship of IRES elements has historically hindered their rational design.
Identification of the expression of tRNA-derived small RNAs associated with necrotizing enterocolitis
Abstract Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a severe neonatal gastrointestinal disease. We explored plasma exosomal small noncoding RNAs (sncRNAs), especially tsRNAs, as potential NEC treatment targets. Small RNA microarray analysis was performed on exosomes from 4 NEC and 4 control plasma samples, and 9 paired samples were used for qRT-PCR validation. GO and KEGG analyses determined tsRNAs’ functions, and TargetScan and miRanda identified their target genes.
Toripalimab-based chemoimmunotherapy for unresectable sinonasal NUT carcinoma of the maxillary sinus: a case report
Abstract Background: Nuclear protein in testis (NUT) carcinoma is an extremely rare and highly aggressive epithelial malignancy driven by NUTM1 rearrangements. Sinonasal involvement is uncommon and often presents with non-specific clinical and radiologic features, leading to delayed diagnosis. Optimal management remains undefined, and outcomes are poor when complete resection is not feasible.

Australia’s China student pipeline is facing a credibility problem
Australian universities remain popular with Chinese students, but online chat reveals growing scepticism about academic rigour, employability and value for money. These perceptions raise hard questions about the long-term sustainability of Australia’s education export model. For more than two decades, Australia’s higher education sector has relied heavily on China as its largest and most stable source of international students.

Reaction Mechanism, Challenges, and Strategies of High‐Energy‐Density Sodium‐Ion Batteries
1 Introduction Driven by low-carbon initiatives, the rapid growth of new energy vehicles has intensified competition in automotive batteries.[1] Despite the dominance of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) in the energy field, lithium's scarcity (0.006 wt.% crustal abundance) constrains large-scale applications while presenting challenges in safety and environmental impact.[2] Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) emerge as a promising alternative for grid-scale storage due to sodium's abundance (2.6 wt.%),...

Multi-omics insights into the molecular signature and prognosis of hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma - Communications Biology
Abstract Approximately two-thirds of hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HPSCC) cases are diagnosed at advanced stages, with the worst prognosis among head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs). Identifying biomarkers for high-risk patients requiring aggressive treatment is crucial. We present mutational, transcriptomic, and proteomic studies of 103 Chinese HPSCC patients and observe a higher prevalence and poorer prognosis in males.

Allocation Strategy Optimization Using Repulsion-Enhanced Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization for Multi-AUV Systems
1. Introduction The target allocation problem in multi-AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) operations represents a significant challenge in constrained combinatorial optimization, closely analogous to resource allocation problems in other domains. This problem, first introduced by [1] and established as NP-complete by [2] in 1986, is characterized by exponentially increasing solution times as the number of targets grows.
