The For-Greer initiative is made up of four projects addressing the growing needs of the community. The projects total about $100 million. The public safety training center is set for a grand opening in June. The estimated cost of the public safety training facility is $17 million.

The announcement is part of a broader milestone for the organization, which now protects more than 40,000 acres across a 10-county area. Under a conservation easement, landowners retain ownership of their property.

The fun is happening at the Greer Heritage Museum on Saturday, Jan. 3, from noon until 4 p.m. That’s also where you’ll find new, never-before-seen exhibits showcasing the city’s rich history. Greer Heritage Museum Communications Director Jonathan Lovegrove helped take the celebration from the pages of a history book and bring it to life.
