48th annual Mountain Goat Run draws more than 1,400 runners to downtown Syracuse (photos)

Syracuse, N.Y. — The annual Mountain Goat Run through downtown Syracuse returned Sunday with more than 1,400 participants in the signature 10-mile event. The top male finisher was Hunter Brignall, of Seneca Falls, N.Y., who won the race with a time of 51:18. The top female finisher was Lindsay Piraino, of Lima, N.Y., with a time of 1:00:52. The 10-mile run started on South Salina Street near Clinton Square and ended in the same place, traveling through the city’s southeast and southwest sides.

Onondaga Nation- Held the third annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Festival on unceded Onondaga land Sunday. Indigenous Peoples’ Day Festival was held on unceded Onondaga land at Tsha’ Thon’nhes. The festival featured the Haudenosaunee Singers and Dancers – participatory social dancing, artist, crafts people and food. Just some of the other featured artist were Peter Jones Pottery, Barry Powless painter, and the Onondaga Women Singers.
