I was editor-in-chief of my community college paper before writing my first published piece. My first paid gig was CalMatters' CJN.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Journalism is all about examining power structures and holding them accountable. Being a journalist is doing that in an accessible way.

2020 - Podcast

Devin Bradshaw and I co-hosted a podcast called Spouse Material in which we discuss, um, being adult virgins (but for good reasons!). In this award-winning episode titled “What Is An IUD?”, we discuss sex education in public and private schools and discover that Devin doesn’t know anything about contraception.
