CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - After Charlotte police announced more arrests and seizures of drugs and guns in Operation Nite Shade, community members are praising the progress made. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Operation Nite Shade is an ongoing effort to remove dangerous criminals, narcotics and firearms from the Sugar Creek and Reagan Road corridor. Robert Dawkins with the activist group Action NC says the area has seen issues with drugs and violence for years.
