New Mexican's shouldn't have to choose between Sandia mountains and pueblo
I have spent much of my life outdoors. I have climbed mountains around the world, but the Sandia Mountains are home. They are part of what makes Albuquerque such an extraordinary place to live. They are protected public lands, and we should think carefully before changing that. Today, the Pueblo of Sandia is asking U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury to introduce legislation to transfer 10,000 acres on the west face of the Sandias from the U.S. Forest Service into trust for the pueblo.

Adaptive chromatin remodeling and transcriptional changes of the functional kinome in tumor cells in response to targeted kinase inhibition

A Day Sail On The Severn
On our way back to the harbor after a recent Annapolis Yacht Club frostbite series sailboat race, my fellow crew, Peter Trogdon and Margaret Podlich, remarked that they would like to go sailing on my 32-foot daysailer,. A month later on a breezy, cool, clear spring day we went for a sail. We had a simple plan to head north up the Severn River and return. There is always great anticipation any time you are heading out onto the water.
Trump should focus on job; Tribune shouldn’t run Libertarian column - Mailbox for March 25
Trump should stop focusing on porn star and should focus on job Petrified by the recent threats and attacks by Russia on western democracies, my only solace is to know Trump and the rest of the Republicans were not governing the United States on Dec. 8, 1941. If they had been, we would be waking up to claims by Trump the bombing of Pearl Harbor was fake news.

The Writer's Almanac with Garrison Keillor
A young man climbed up Mount Rainier On a day that was perfectly clear And through his telescope He watched a big dope Steal his bicycle and disappear. There was a young lady of Newark Who rode a train daily to work Then returned to the station For the same transportation At six o’clock when she was through work. An old Lutheran near Owatonna Raised ten acres of marijuana. It went up in a blaze And for seventeen days He had visions of the Blessed Madonna.
A Comparison of Seven Predental Postbaccalaureate Programs in Gaining Dental School Acceptance for Their Students
Predental students are often unsuccessful in gaining admission to dental school because of low academic scores. Many of these students are from economically and/or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. Postbaccalaureate and Master’s programs provide these students with the opportunity to raise their grade point averages and/or scores on the Dental Admission Test and then apply or reapply for dental school admission.
Factors Associated With Small Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Expansion Rate

Objective To identify significant clinical risk factors associated with the AAA expansion rate for both constant and accelerated expansion trajectories.
The Writer's Almanac with Garrison Keillor
A little girl is singing for the faithful to come ye Joyful and triumphant, a song she loves, And also the partridge in a pear tree And the golden rings and the turtle doves. In the dark streets, red lights and green and blue Where the faithful live, some joyful, some troubled, Enduring the cold and also the flu, Taking the garbage out and keeping the sidewalk shoveled. Not much triumph going on here—and yet There is much we do not understand.
The Writer's Almanac with Garrison Keillor
It is the birthday of Henry McCarty, better known as Billy the Kid, who might have been born on this day in New York City in 1859. That's according to the book that made the Kid famous after his death, The Authentic Life of Billy the Kid by Pat Garrett and Ash Upson.

Gary Johnson and Jill Stein fail to make cut for first debate - The Santa Fe New Mexican: News
The first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump this month will exclude two leading third-party nominees — Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party and the Green Party’s Jill Stein — the Commission on Presidential Debates announced Friday. The failure to be invited to the Sept. 26 debate at Hofstra University deals a significant blow to Johnson and Stein, who are desperate for national exposure to promote their long-shot bids for the White House.
