Development and validation of a competing-risk nomogram for predicting cancer-specific mortality in prostate cancer: a SEER population-based study
Abstract Prostate cancer prognosis is complicated by substantial competing risks of non-cancer death, particularly in older patients. Existing SEER-based nomograms for high-risk prostate cancer predominantly use standard Cox regression, which does not directly estimate the absolute probability of cancer-specific mortality (CSM) when non-cancer deaths are common.

Accurate 6-DoF pose sensing and dynamic tracking enabled by a metalens-integrated camera
Accurate six-degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) pose sensing is essential for autonomous systems, intelligent robotics, and the Internet of Things. Conventional pose-sensing approaches often rely on bulky imaging modules and complex visual pipelines, limiting their deployment on compact and embedded platforms. Metalens-integrated cameras provide an ultrathin optical front end, but their reduced contrast and imaging blur make pose estimation unstable.
Bridging the epistemic gap: a psychological acceptance model for the cross-cultural health communication of traditional Chinese medicine
Abstract Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is now included in the ICD-11, reflecting its growing use within systems of medical pluralism worldwide. Its global communication, however, continues to encounter cognitive friction. This friction reflects an epistemic gap between TCM’s holistic, pattern-based logic and the reductionist framework of biomedicine, a gap that linguistic translation cannot close on its own.

Abstract Access to clean energy and poverty reduction remain linked challenges in many low-income regions. Solar power programs often aim to address both goals, yet evidence on their broader economic and environmental effects remains limited. Here, we assess China’s photovoltaic poverty alleviation program, which supports households with low incomes through small-scale solar electricity generation.
EMReady2: improvement of cryo-EM and cryo-ET maps by local quality-aware deep learning with Mamba
Abstract Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) has emerged as a leading technology for determining the structures of biological macromolecules. However, map quality issues such as noise and loss of contrast hinder accurate map interpretation. Traditional and deep learning-based post-processing methods offer improvements but face limitations particularly in handling map heterogeneity. Here, we present EMReady2, an extension of our previous EMReady cryo-EM map improvement method.

A multi-resolution systematically improvable quantum embedding scheme for large-scale surface chemistry calculations - Nature Communications
Abstract Predictive simulation of surface chemistry is critical in fields from catalysis to electrochemistry and clean energy generation. Ab-initio quantum many-body methods should offer deep insights into these systems at the electronic level but are limited by their steep computational cost. Here, we build upon state-of-the-art correlated wavefunctions to reliably reach ‘gold standard’ accuracy in quantum chemistry for extended surface chemistry.
In MEMS LiDAR for industrial robotics, conventional Lissajous scanning suffers from fixed-density point clouds, causing sparse resolution in regions of interest (ROI) and redundancy in non-critical areas. To address this issue we propose a phase modulation (PM) strategy that enables dynamic adaptive variable-density ROI scanning using a single resonant mirror. Three types of variable density modulation achieve ROI switching within the nine-grid region.
