Mixed Litter Decomposition Drives Functional Gene Rearrangement in the Microbial Carbon Cycle
1 Introduction Forests, covering approximately 30% of the global land area, play a dominant role in the global carbon cycling by storing 80% of the carbon in vegetation and 39% of the carbon in soils (Pan et al. 2013). Forest floor litter (dead branches, leaves, seeds) accounts for about 10% of forest carbon storage, with China's litter carbon increasing by 6.7 Tg C annually due to expanding forest area, biomass growth, and aging forests (Fankhauser et al. 2022; Zhu et al. 2017).

Sensory Nerve‐Derived CGRP Controls Osteoclastogenesis by Limiting Macrophage Bioenergetics in Bone Repair
1 Introduction Bone is a rigid but dynamically remodeling organ that supports the skeletal system and provides the foundation for physical activities [1]. Even though bone has endogenous regenerative capacity, delayed, inadequate, or failed bone healing still occurs and significantly affects global populations [2, 3]. In 2019, the Years Lived with Disability (YLD) caused by fractures alone were reported at 25.8 million among all ages, despite many other causes of bone defects [4].
A Broadband High‐Power Eight‐Way Coaxial‐Waveguide Power Divider/Combiner
In this letter, a broadband high-power eight-way coaxial waveguide power divider is proposed. The structure consists of one large coaxial tapered waveguide and eight branched coaxial tapered waveguides. A coaxial stepped impedance matching structure is introduced to suppress reflection peaks and broaden the operating bandwidth, while rectangular slots are incorporated near the inner conductor plane to redistribute the electric field and thereby enhance the power capacity.

Vaping and smoking cue reactivity in young adult electronic cigarette users who have never smoked combustible cigarettes: a functional neuroimaging study
Abstract Introduction: The rapid growth in the use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) among young adults who have never smoked combustible cigarettes is concerning, as it raises the potential for chronic vaping and nicotine addiction. A key characteristic of drug addiction is the elevated neural response to conditioned drug-related cues (i.e., cue reactivity). Generalized reactivity to both vaping and smoking cues may signify an increased risk for smoking initiation in non- smoking vapers.

Abstract : One-dimensional modeling of the hydrodynamic river networks of plain urban rivers has been employed to optimize operating regulations in these river networks. However, pilot-scale experiments are still lacking for the validation of hydrodynamics obtained by modeling to improve water quality. In this study, a pilot-scale experiment combined with theoretical calculation was conducted to determine both the hydrodynamics and water quality in the Hutang area of Changzhou, China.
From Mind to Mouth: Understanding Active Publics in China and Their Communicative Behaviors on GM Foods
2.3. Summation Method Using the Theoretical Framework of STOPS STOPS provides a conceptual frame and summation method to classify the general population into strategic subgroups [5]. STOPS was proposed to expand and generalize the situational theory of publics (STP) [6]. While STP conceptually posited a person as an economic man facing a decision situation, STOPS shifted the focus of STP from a decision-making process to a problem-solving process.
Numerical Study on Flow and Noise Characteristics of an NACA0018 Airfoil with a Porous Trailing Edge
Abstract : An airfoil with a porous trailing edge has a low noise emission; thus, using a porous medium is a good technique for further reduction of wind turbine noise. In this paper, to reduce airfoil trailing edge noise while minimizing the negative influence of a porous medium on aerodynamic performance, a new filling method is proposed such that a porous medium is only used in the suction side half of the trailing edge, which is more sensitive to the noise generation.
