CELF2 promotes 4R Tau splicing via nuclear clustering and drives cognitive dysfunction in tauopathy models
|
Abstract Alternative splicing is a fundamental mechanism underlying protein diversity. The microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) undergoes age-associated alternative splicing of exon 10 to generate 3 R and 4 R isoforms, and disruption of the 4 R:3 R ratio is a central feature of tauopathies. However, the molecular mechanisms regulating tau exon 10 splicing remain incompletely understood.

Community of inquiry as a zone of proximal development: cultivating English-as-a-foreign-language students’ discussion performance
Abstract Existing empirical studies in first language contexts have demonstrated that Lipman’s community of inquiry (CoI) approach fosters students’ critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration. However, its impact in English as a foreign language (EFL) settings remains underexplored.
Streamlined synthesis of β-elemene using a spatially organized multi-enzyme machinery
Abstract β-Elemene is a pharmaceutically important sesquiterpene, while its production from plants and chemical synthesis remains inefficient. To achieve the efficient in vitro synthesis of β-elemene from low-cost mevalonate, a hexa-enzyme cascade system was employed to improve biosynthetic productivity.
Inflammatory burden index predicts long-term mortality: evidence from population-based cohorts with clinical validation
Abstract Background: Systemic inflammation is increasingly recognized as a key determinant of long-term health outcomes. The Inflammatory Burden Index (IBI), derived from C-reactive protein, neutrophil count, and lymphocyte count, integrates multiple components of systemic inflammatory and immune status. However, evidence regarding its association with long-term mortality among individuals with and without a history of cancer remains limited.
MYH9 confers doxorubicin resistance by stabilizing GRP78 and suppressing the PERK signaling-driven apoptotic pathway in breast cancer
Abstract Background: MYH9 is upregulated in various malignancies, but its role in breast cancer chemoresistance remains unclear. We investigated whether MYH9 regulates doxorubicin (ADR) resistance via GRP78 stabilization and PERK pathway modulation. Methods: MYH9 expression was analyzed in breast cancer tissues and cell lines by immunohistochemistry and western blot. ADR-resistant MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cell lines were established.

Iron-based superconductors (IBSCs) represent a major class of unconventional high-temperature superconductors following the discovery of cuprates, with their single-crystal superconducting transition temperature (Tc) reaching as high as ∼55 K. (1,2) Compared to cuprates, IBSCs exhibit distinct characteristics such as metallic parent states, multiband electronic structures, and unique pairing mechanisms, which have stimulated sustained research in high-temperature superconductivity.
Reliability and validity of the death anxiety scale in patients with mental illnesses in a general hospital
Abstract Background: Death anxiety is a transdiagnostic construct of mental illness. The aim of this study was to explore the reliability and validity of the death anxiety scale (DAS) in the context of mental illnesses in a general hospital. Methods: Patients with generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder or somatic symptom disorder were included in the study. Internal consistency was explored using Cronbach’s α.

Soft robotic end-effectors, offering superior adaptability, safety, and flexibility, enable robots to perform complex and delicate tasks. However, passive adhesion often results in insufficient contact with target surfaces, limiting grasping stability and locomotion. To address this issue, we present a shape memory alloy (SMA)-driven electrostatic adhesive soft end-effector (SEAE) that integrates deformation actuation with electrostatic adhesion control.

Ythdf2/Setd1b regulatory axis is essential for cerebellar development through regulating epigenetic reprogramming
Abstract The epigenetic modification N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is critical for neurodevelopment. However, its interplay with histone modifications during cerebellar development remains poorly understood. Ythdf2 is a core m6A reader that promotes selective degradation of methylated transcripts to shape gene expression dynamics. However, whether Ythdf2 also coordinates epitranscriptomic regulation with chromatin remodeling during cerebellar development is unknown.

Multimodal evidence for hippocampal engagement and modulation by functional connectivity-guided parietal TMS
Abstract Hippocampal activity supports memory and many other brain functions. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) guided by hippocampal functional connectivity (FC) shows promise in improving memory, but direct neural evidence of its capacity to engage and modulate hippocampal activity is lacking. Here we combined TMS with intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) in 8 neurosurgical patients and with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in 79 neurologically healthy participants.

Depressive symptoms and cognitive impairment among rural Chinese older women: anxiety and poor sleep as sequential correlates—A cross-sectional analysis
Abstract Background: Depressive symptoms are a well-established predictor of late-life cognitive impairment. Furthermore, anxiety and sleep quality—both correlates of cognitive impairment—could mediate the depression–cognition association in older women. Nevertheless, limited research has empirically tested this hypothesis using causal mediation analysis.

Early prediction of immunotherapy efficacy for advanced NSCLC based on clinical and pre-treatment contrast-enhanced CT radiomics features
1 Introduction Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. The five-year survival rate for patients with advanced NSCLC is less than 5% owing to the loss of surgical opportunities, limited efficacy of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and significant toxicity (1, 2).

Angiopep-2 modified naringin nanoparticles for Alzheimer’s disease therapy overcoming BBB
Abstract Naringin (4′,5,7-trihydroxyflavanone-7-rhamnoglucoside, NG), a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s disease (AD), has strong neuroprotective effects but is limited by poor solubility, low bioavailability, and limited brain accumulation. To address these issues, we developed ANG-NG-NPs, a novel NG-loaded poly (ethylene glycol)-poly(ε-caprolactone) copolymers (PEG-PCL) nanoparticle modified with the brain-targeting peptide Angiopep-2 (TFFYGGSRGKRNNFKTEEY, ANG).

Blended Hole Transport Layer for Efficient and Stable Full-Color NiOx-based QLEDs
Blended Hole Transport Layer for Efficient and Stable Full-Color NiOx-based QLEDs Highly stable inorganic metal oxide-based hole injection materials demonstrate significant potential for advancing the commercialization of quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs). However, the performance of NiOx-based QLED necessitates further enhancement owing to inferior hole injection ability. In this work, a novel blended hole transport layer (HTL) is developed to improve charge injection in NiOx-based QLED.
