Cardinals' Marvin Harrison Jr. shows mercurial side with TD, bobbled pass against Seahawks
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Marvin Harrison Jr. soared above a defensive back, snagged the ball at the high point and pulled it down for a key touchdown in Arizona's comeback attempt. The Cardinals' second-year receiver didn't celebrate, opting instead to kneel with an arm over the front of his helmet before jogging off the field. After the first half he had, Harrison seemed more relieved than excited about pulling down a highlight-reel touchdown.

While attending the panel at the WNBA All-Star game last month, Thomas was approached by the motor oil company about putting her image on a NASCAR for an upcoming race. Javier Báez has 5 RBIs, Tigers knock out 17 hits in 13-0 pummeling of Diamondbacks
PHOENIX (AP) — Javier Báez broke out of a season-long slump with five RBIs, Tarik Skubal pitched six dominant innings and the Detroit Tigers pounded the Arizona Diamondbacks 13-0 on Friday night. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch insisted he was going to keep sending Báez out despite the shortstop’s meager .167 batting average. Báez rewarded him with a 3-for-4 night that included a pair of two-run doubles and a run-scoring single. He wasn’t alone in Detroit’s hit fest.
Diamondbacks withstand Realmuto hitting for the cycle to beat Phillies 9-8
PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks rallied from an early four-run deficit before nearly blew a four-run lead late. Their manager and a reserve infielder were ejected after the same player got hit by a pitch twice in three innings. The Philadelphia Phillies had a player complete the cycle in the ninth inning, thought they had a go-ahead homer on a ball that curled into their bullpen. A wild night in the desert ended with the Diamondbacks' sixth straight win.
Brittney Griner gets rousing welcome in Phoenix home game after release from Russian prison
PHOENIX (AP) — Brittney Griner won the opening tip and ran to her familiar spot in the low post. There was nowhere else the ball was going on the Phoenix Mercury's opening possession of the season — not after what Griner had gone through to get here. Her back to the basket, Griner faked as though she would shoot a turnaround, spun the other way and put up another up-fake. Chicago's Elizabeth Williams fell for the deke, Griner absorbed the contact and hit the shot to begin a three-point play.

"There’s not a lot of difference between the best team in the country and the worst team in the country," San Diego State coach Brian Dutcher said.
