ILC2-intrinsic IL-33 amplifies ILC2 activation and allergic lung inflammation
Abstract Interleukin-33 (IL-33) from lung epithelial cells serves as a crucial alarmin to activate the lung-resident group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) and then to initiate type 2 inflammation. However, whether IL-33 has an intrinsic role in the ILC2-driven lung inflammation remains unclear. In this study, we characterize the proteomic features of mouse lung ILC2s during activation and observe an increased expression of intrinsic IL-33 in activated ILC2s.
Single cell transcriptomics analyses reveal functional heterogeneity and anti-tumor role of mast cells in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Abstract Introduction: Mast cells (MCs) play important roles in allergic reactions and tissue homeostasis; however, their functions in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remain controversial. Understanding the heterogeneity and functional states of MCs in ESCC is essential for elucidating their roles in tumor progression and immune regulation.
A structural equation modeling study on factors influencing the humanistic care ability of undergraduate nursing interns
1 Introduction In 2022, the National Health Commission of China emphasized in the “National Nursing Career Development Plan (2021–2025)” that strengthening humanistic care in nursing is core to the development of the nursing profession and the health of the people, and must not be absent. The importance of humanistic care in nursing has long been recognized internationally.
Prevalence and associated factors of social frailty among older adults in nursing homes: a cross-sectional study
ORIGINAL RESEARCH article Volume 13 - 2025 | https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2025.1742570 1 Background Social frailty is defined as the lack or loss of social resources, behaviors, activities, and self-management skills (1). It is associated with adverse outcomes such as depression, cognitive impairment, and disability, reducing the quality of life in older adults and imposing a heavy burden on families and healthcare systems (2).
mTORC1 signaling in group 2 innate lymphoid cells coordinates neuro-immune crosstalk in allergic lung inflammation - Nature Communications
Abstract Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2) initiate pathologic type 2 inflammation in allergic asthma in response to diverse tissue-derived stimuli. However, the molecular mechanisms by which ILC2 cells integrate and respond to environmental signals are unclear. Here, we show in a mouse model that in allergic asthma, mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) activation in lung ILC2 cells increases.
Dose response comparison of Nipah virus strains Malaysia and Bangladesh in hamsters exposed by the intranasal or intraperitoneal route
Abstract Nipah virus, a zoonotic pathogen, can cause debilitating disease and death in humans. Currently, countermeasures are limited, with several in various stages of testing but none yet FDA-approved for human use. Evaluation of countermeasure candidates requires safety testing in humans, as well as efficacy testing against lethal challenge in animal models.
The Chinese business case for cutting emissions
As the COP29 climate conference wrapped up in late November, it became clear that its legacy would be uncertainty regarding global cooperation on climate action. Attendees did predominantly agree on one thing, however. Companies should publish their climate targets and contribute to the energy transition. According to the UN’s 2024 Emission Gap Report, as of June last year 107 countries covering approximately 82% of global greenhouse gas emissions had adopted net-zero pledges.

Dietary nucleic acids promote oral tolerance through innate sensing pathways in mice - Nature Communications
Abstract Oral tolerance is essential for intestinal homeostasis and systemic immune function. However, our understanding of how oral tolerance is maintained is inadequate. Here we report that food-derived nucleic acids promote oral tolerance through innate sensing pathways. We find that dietary nucleic acids, but not microbiota, expand the natural intraepithelial lymphocyte (IEL) pool, specifically in the small intestine.
Epigenetic regulation of innate lymphoid cells
Introduction Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) are subsets of innate immune cells that lack antigen-specific receptors and share similarities with CD4+ T helper (Th) cells [1]. Group 1 ILCs are composed of natural killer (NK) cells and ILC1s. While NK cells are highly similar to CD8+ T cells, as they also express Eomes and exhibit cytotoxic functions, ILC1s mirror Th1 by expressing T-bet, IFN-γ, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α.

Discovery of a Novel Intron in US10/US11/US12 of HSV-1 Strain 17
1. Introduction Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1) is a double-stranded DNA (~152 Kb) virus belonging to the Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily of the Orthoherpesviridae family [1,2]. HSV-1 infects humans and causes a variety of clinical manifestations, including neonatal herpes, corneal blindness, herpetic whitlow, meningitis, encephalitis, and genital herpes [3,4]. With the advance of high-throughput sequencing technologies, an increased number of HSV-1 strains have been sequenced.
An Optimal Selection of the Clamping Fixture for Manufacturing an I-Shaped Composite Beam
1. Introduction Manufacturing is the major pillar of the national economy and occupies an important position in the economic growth of both developed and developing countries. With increasing market competition and increasing attention to social and environmental protection issues, governments, enterprises, and users around the world prioritize high-efficiency, eco-friendly, and low-cost manufacturing.

Dehydrative allylation of P-H species under metal-free conditions
Dehydrative allylation of P–H species under metal-free conditions† An environmentally benign protocol for C–P bond construction was developed under metal- and solvent-free conditions. In the presence of B(C6F5)3, wide-spectrum P–H species, including dialkylphosphite, hypophosphite ester, and secondary phosphine oxides, can be successfully incorporated into the dehydrative cross-coupling process with allylic alcohols delivering the corresponding allylic organophosphorus compounds in high yields.

Interleukin-15 (IL-15) Strongly Correlates with Increasing HIV-1 Viremia and Markers of Inflammation
IL-15 has been postulated to play an important role in HIV-1 infection, yet there are conflicting reports regarding its expression levels in these patients. We sought to measure the level of IL-15 in a large, well characterised cohort of HIV-1 infected patients and correlate this with well known markers of inflammation, including CRP, D-dimer, sCD163 and sCD14. IL-15 levels were measured in 501 people (460 patients with HIV-1 infection and 41 uninfected controls).
