ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A new Louisiana law is adding oversight to the state’s name, image and likeness industry. As of July 1, anyone serving as an agent or attorney for a student-athlete must meet new requirements. All agents are now required to register with the state, pass a criminal background check and complete mandatory training before they can represent athletes. The process is handled through an online portal on the state attorney general’s website.

Central Louisiana FC advances to GCPL final with penalty shootout win

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - On July 4, Central Louisiana FC advanced to the Gulf Coast Premier League championship game, defeating Louisiana Fire Soccer Club. The match remained scoreless through regulation and, following a lightning delay, Central Louisiana FC ultimately claimed the victory in a penalty shootout, punching their ticket to the championship game. Central Louisiana FC will play for their third-straight title on Saturday, July 11, against Baton Rouge Soccer Club.
