ALICE, Texas (KRIS) - Hazmat crews are trying to identify a mystery chemical that sent nine first responders to the hospital. The exposure happened Friday morning at a Quality Inn in Alice, Texas. Officers and medics became dizzy while treating an unresponsive woman. Two police officers have already been released from the hospital. The other first responders and the woman remain in stable condition. CHRISTUS Spohn Alice locked down its emergency room for an hour and a half as a precaution.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran said it considers the Strait of Hormuz closed once again after a vessel using an ‘unauthorized route’ was struck by a warning shot in the critical waterway, further jeopardizing the already tenuous ceasefire agreement with the United States. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice announced that visitation at the Swanson Center for Youth’s Monroe campus has been canceled effective immediately. OJJ said all scheduled visitations from Saturday, July 11, 2026, through Sunday, July 12, 2026, are canceled due to an active facility lockdown following an escape incident. “To ensure the safety of the youth, staff, and visitors, all visitation privileges are suspended until further notice,” OJJ said.

(CNN) - Conair is recalling more than 12,000 of its grills due to a laceration hazard. The recall is for the Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-In-1 gas grill with a pizza oven. The tempered glass window in the pizza oven can shatter, posing a risk of serious injury. The company said it has received 37 reports of the glass shattering during use, and one fire was reported. No injuries have been reported. The grills were sold at Lowe’s, Walmart and online at cuisinart.com from Dec. 2024 through May 2026.

BRYANT, Ark. (KTHV) - A 9-year-old girl is recovering after being swept into a storm drain in Arkansas during heavy rain Wednesday evening, The girl was playing outside with her cousin when she slipped and fell into the drain, according to Bryant Mayor Chris Treat. “And her cousin tried to pull her out, but the current was too strong and took her in,” Treat said. According to authorities, the girl ended up traveling more than 200 yards through the drainage system. Her family called 911 immediately.
