Trade-offs between soil inorganic and organic carbon driven by multiple global environmental changes
Abstract Dryland ecosystems store large amounts of both soil organic and inorganic carbon, yet the responses of soil inorganic carbon to global environmental change remain largely overlooked despite the potential vulnerability of this carbon pool.
Chromosomal-level genome assembly of Cosmococcus erythrinae (Hemiptera: Coccoidea: Lecanodiaspididae)
Abstract Cosmococcus erythrinae is a potentially serious agricultural pest in southern China owing to its broad host range, high fecundity, protective wax covering, and lack of natural enemies. These biological traits raise important questions about the genomic basis of host adaptation, protective surface traits, reproductive success, and ecological persistence in scale insects. In this study, we present the first chromosome-level genome assembly of C.
Age-dependent immune heterogeneity and the limited diagnostic utility of peripheral blood biomarkers in pediatric tuberculosis: a real-world cohort study with multidimensional model evaluation
Abstract Background: Pediatric tuberculosis (TB) remains a diagnostic challenge due to atypical presentations and low pathogen detection rates. Overlapping clinical features with Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) infection further complicate differential diagnosis. Immune-inflammatory parameters are age-dependent, yet how age modifies these profiles in children with TB and MP co-infection remains poorly understood.

T-cell engager bispecific antibodies enable T cells to eliminate Multiple Myeloma by targeting tumor CD38 in combination with PD-L1
Abstract Bispecific antibodies have gradually been applied in the treatment of multiple myeloma(MM). The combination of bispecific antibodies targeting CD3 and CD28 mimics the dual-signaling system (antigen signaling and co-stimulatory signaling) of natural T cell activation, thereby significantly enhancing the anti-tumor response of T cells. CD38, a transmembrane glycoprotein, is highly expressed on MM cells and serves as an important surface marker.
Treponema pallidum serine protease Tp0841 degrades ZO-1 and VE-cadherin to breach the vascular barrier and enable dissemination
Abstract Treponema pallidum subsp. pallidum (T. pallidum), the causative agent of syphilis, disseminates to distant organs by disrupting the vascular endothelial barrier, yet the underlying molecular mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we investigated the role of the serine protease Tp0841 in this process. Bioinformatics and immunofluorescence localized Tp0841 to the periplasmic space of T. pallidum. Recombinant Tp0841 (rTp0841) and a catalytically inactive mutant (rΔTp0841) were generated.
Chromosome-level genome assembly of Ceroplastes rusci Linnaeus, 1758 (Hemiptera: Coccidae)
Abstract The fig wax scale, Ceroplastes rusci (Linnaeus, 1758), is a polyphagous, globally invasive pest native to Africa, causing severe economic losses. High-quality genomic resources for this species are lacking, limiting molecular research on its biology and management. Here, we report a high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of C. rusci, with a total length of 426.70 Mb and a scaffold N50 of 24.19 Mb. Hi-C data anchored 99.96% of the assembly into 18 chromosomes.
Shared genetic architecture between Crohn’s disease and IgA nephropathy: implications for a gut–immune–kidney axis
Abstract Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and IgA nephropathy (IgAN) share features of mucosal immune dysregulation, but the genetic basis of their relationship and the contribution of specific IBD subtypes remain unclear.

Links between the Archean hydrosphere and Earth’s interior
Abstract Earth’s long-term habitability depends on cycling of surface volatiles into and out of the mantle, yet when this cycling began and how the early hydrosphere became connected to Earth’s interior remain debated. Komatiites are ultramafic magmas produced mostly during the Archean by deep, high-degree mantle melting, providing a sensitive archive of early mantle composition. Here we present high-precision K isotope data for komatiites from ten localities.
Trans-cuff budesonide delivery and its effects on endotracheal intubation-induced subglottic injury
Abstract Objectives: This study aimed to determine whether budesonide inhalation suspension (BIS) diffuses through polyvinyl chloride (PVC) endotracheal tube (ETT) cuffs and whether intracuff budesonide attenuates the acute subglottic injury during endotracheal intubation (ETI) in a rabbit model. Methods: in vitro, high-performance liquid chromatography was used to quantify trans-cuff diffusion of budesonide from 2.5-mm-ID PVC ETT cuffs.
Hydrogen-carbon doubly superionic conduits of carbonic acids in planetary ices
Abstract Recent astronomical observations show that carbon dioxide (CO2) is widespread on planetary bodies, often coexisting with water (H2O). Crystalline carbonic acid (H2CO3), produced from CO2-H2O interactions, has been predicted and synthesized under high pressure, yet their dynamic behaviors under planetary interior conditions remain poorly understood. Here, we investigate the stability of CO2-H2O planetary ices across pressures from 0 to 500 gigapascals.
USP13 promotes enzalutamide resistance by catalyzing depolyubiquitination of PCMT1 in prostate cancer
Abstract Castrate resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) is often driven by constitutively active androgen receptor and AR splicing variants that become resistant to established hormonal therapy strategies such as enzalutamide. Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) play crucial roles in cancer development, progression, and metastasis by epigenetic modification. Hence, targeting DUBs might prove to be a valid strategy for developing novel anti-cancer therapeutics.
Crustal recycling and metamorphic dehydration govern the fertility of granite-associated tin systems
Abstract Tin is a critical metal predominantly sourced from granite-associated deposits linked to anatexis of metasedimentary rocks and extreme magmatic differentiation. However, how metamorphism of sedimentary protoliths prior to crustal melting influences granite Sn fertility remains poorly constrained. Here we present an integrated boron (B) and mercury (Hg) isotope study of granites, metasedimentary basement rocks, and ores from the western Yunnan segment of the Southeast Asian Tin Belt.

Arsenic substitution and galvanic coupling in pyrite trigger uranium mineralization in sandstone
Abstract Sandstone-hosted uranium (U) deposits account for the majority of global U production. In these deposits, pyrite is widely considered one of the most common reducing agents playing a crucial role in ore formation. However, it has been shown that pyrite is not simply consumed (dissolved) during U mineralization as is expected if pyrite is used as a reducing agent; instead, pyrite (specifically arsenian pyrite) is also precipitated during U mineralization.
Photocurrent modulation through controlled beam steering via phase-gradient metasurfaces
Metasurfaces, composed of subwavelength plasmonic resonators, facilitate diverse wavefront engineering by introducing abrupt and spatially phase shifts to tailor incident electromagnetic waves. Extending this strategy to optoelectronic platforms introduces an additional degree of freedom to actively manipulate light.
