Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus suppresses DHX9-mediated antiviral transcription through its nucleocapsid protein
|
Abstract Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) causes an enteric disease in piglets and leads to economic losses in the swine industry. Antiviral defense depends on interferon responses, yet how PEDV suppresses antiviral transcription remains incompletely understood. We show that DExH-box helicase 9 (DHX9) functions as a host restriction factor that is antagonized by the PEDV nucleocapsid (N) protein. PEDV infection decreases DHX9 protein abundance without affecting DHX9 transcript levels.

Comparative efficacy of lipid-lowering therapies on the cardio-renal-metabolic axis in diabetic kidney disease: a Bayesian network meta-analysis addressing residual CRM risk
Abstract Background: In diabetic kidney disease (DKD), dyslipidemia accelerates renal decline and heart failure risk, making Cardio-Renal-Metabolic (CRM) risk reduction critical. The bidirectional relationship between cardiac and renal dysfunction further highlights the necessity of lipid-lowering therapy as a common intervention pathway; however, its comparative efficacy remains unclear. Objective: To compare the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic (CRM) outcomes of various lipid-lowering agents.
Highly Emissive and Stable Ge(II)- and Sn(II)-Based Vacancy-Ordered Iodide Double Perovskites
1 Introduction Lead-free double perovskites, A2B′B″X6, and their derivatives provide chemically robust and compositionally tunable halide frameworks for optoelectronic materials design [1, 2]. However, intrinsic photoluminescence (PL) is often weak because many lead-free double perovskites possess indirect band gaps and/or weakly allowed band-edge transitions (including symmetry-limited transition strength), which together suppress radiative recombination [2-5].

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a gram-positive bacterium and a drug-resistant isolate of S. aureus [4, 5]. The prevalence of methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) and MRSA has caused many medical and health problems [6, 7].
Spin-supersolidity induced quantum criticality and magnetocaloric effect in the triangular-lattice antiferromagnet Rb 2 Co(SeO 3 ) 2
Abstract We performed high-field magnetization, magnetocaloric effect (MCE), and NMR measurements on the Ising triangular-lattice antiferromagnet Rb2Co(SeO3)2. The observations of the 1/3-magnetization plateau, the NMR line splits, and the thermal activation behaviors of the spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T1 between 2 and 15.8 T provide unambiguous evidence of a gapped up–up–down (UUD) magnetic ordered phase.
Association between physical activity patterns and renal cell carcinoma risk: evidence from the UK biobank large-scale prospective cohort
Abstract While physical inactivity is an established risk factor for renal cell carcinoma (RCC), prospective evidence comparing the efficacy of distinct physical activity (PA) patterns—specifically the “weekend warrior” (WW) versus regularly distributed activity—remains limited. This study analyzed data from 89,000 participants in the UK Biobank cohort who had no prior diagnosis of RCC. PA data were collected using the Axivity AX3 wrist-worn accelerometer.
Cytoplasmic versus nuclear localization of androgen receptor splice variant 7 as a predictor of benefit from androgen receptor pathway inhibitors in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (PROPHECY trial)
Abstract Androgen receptor splice variant-7 (AR-V7), a constitutively active truncated protein, is linked to hormone therapy resistance. Nuclear AR-V7 in CTCs correlates with poor response and shorter progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) treated with ARPIs. The predictive value of cytoplasmic AR-V7 localization remains unclear.

OSBPL3 drives colorectal cancer progression via Hippo-YAP signaling and modulates MEK inhibitor sensitivity - Communications Biology
Abstract Colorectal cancer progression involves dysregulated signaling pathways such as Hippo-YAP, but upstream regulators remain poorly defined. Here we demonstrate that oxysterol-binding protein-like 3 (OSBPL3) modulates Hippo-YAP signaling to drive tumor aggressiveness. Analysis of clinical specimens and experimental models shows that elevated OSBPL3 levels in colorectal cancer tissues correlate with shortened patient survival.
