Several methodological issues in the systematic review “PD-1/PD-L1 blockade in Alzheimer’s disease”
Dear Editor: We carefully read the systematic review and meta-analysis by Yoon et al. published in Molecular Psychiatry [1]. This work integrated preclinical and clinical evidence and addressed an important topic. However, our detailed review of the main text and supplementary materials identified several issues in data extraction, classification, and reporting. These concerns are not limited to minor reporting errors.
Gastrodin combined with donepezil alleviates cognitive dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease mice by improving mitochondrial function through AMPK/PGC-1α/SIRT3 axis
Abstract Objective: This study aims to explore whether gastrodin (Gas) combined with donepezil (Don) has a neuroprotective effect on Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mice by regulating the AMPK/PGC-1α/SIRT3 signaling axis. Methods: HT22 cells were transfected with SIRT3 siRNA or control siRNA. Cells were then treated with the AMPK inhibitor, Don, Gas, or their combination. Subsequently, HT22 cells were treated with Amyloid beta 1–42 (Aβ 1–42) to induce an in vitro AD model.
Reconstructing disease burden data in armed conflict
In Palestine, armed conflict is pushing a substantial share of disease burden beyond the reach of routine health statistics. This problem is most acute in the Gaza Strip. As of 30 April 2026, 94% of hospitals in Gaza had been destroyed or damaged, and 47% of essential medicines were completely out of stock1. Ongoing constraints on the supply of medicines, laboratory testing and referral systems have further weakened the service capacity of the hospitals that remain functional.
An Anterior Cingulate Cortex-Anterior Insular Cortex Glutamatergic Circuit Gates Stress-Induced Visceral Hypersensitivity and Anxiety via Ionotropic Glutamate Receptors Trafficking
1 Introduction The neural mechanisms underlying the complex interplay between sensation and emotion in the brain represent a fundamental question in systems neuroscience. This sensory-emotional integration is particularly salient in pain, which is inherently both a sensory and an emotional experience [1, 2]. The high prevalence of pain-psychiatric comorbidity represents a major challenge in both clinical and basic research, underscoring the existence of shared pathophysiology mechanisms [3].
Eye-movement-based machine learning for identifying Parkinson’s disease dementia in a retrospective cohort: an interpretable model-development study
Abstract Background: Parkinson’s disease dementia (PDD) is a major non-motor complication of Parkinson’s disease (PD), but conventional cognitive screening is influenced by education, language, motor impairment, fatigue, and testing conditions. We developed and interpreted machine-learning models using eye-movement and demographic features to identify PDD among patients with PD. Methods: In this retrospective single-center study, 486 patients were screened between December 2024 and February 2025.
Trends, underlying-cause structure, and penetration of end-stage kidney disease involvement in U.S. mortality, 1999–2023: a multiple-cause-of-death analysis
Abstract Background: End-stage kidney disease (ESKD) is often listed as a contributing rather than underlying cause of death, potentially understating its burden in underlying-cause surveillance. Using U.S. multiple-cause-of-death data, we evaluated trends, underlying-cause pathways, ESKD “penetration” into cause-specific mortality, and drivers of change in ESKD-involved deaths.
Evolving registry staging and competing risks in analyses of First Nations prostate cancer outcomes
To the Editor. Albers and colleagues report important population-based evidence of disparities in prostate cancer outcomes between First Nations and non-First Nations men in Alberta (1995–2022).1 We are concerned that evolving registry staging practices may materially influence the interpretation of the adjusted outcomes are similar between groups.

PDDD-Net: Defect Detection Network Based on Parallel Attention Mechanism and Dual-Channel Spatial Pyramid Pooling
In intelligent industrial manufacturing scenarios [1], [2], [3], the product surface is inevitably affected by factors such as the processing technology, environmental temperature and manual operation errors, which lead to porosity and scratches. Therefore, defect detection is an important step in evaluating the quality of industrial products [3]. Through automatic defect detection, problematic products can be effectively prevented from entering the market and causing major accidents [4].
scDILT: a model-based and constrained deep learning framework for single-cell Data Integration, Label Transferring, and clustering
Abstract The scRNA-seq technology enables high-resolution profiling and analysis of individual cells. The increasing availability of datasets and advancements in technology have prompted researchers to integrate existing annotated datasets with newly sequenced datasets for a more comprehensive analysis. It is important to ensure that the integration of new datasets does not alter the cell clusters defined in the old/reference datasets.

T-cell phenotype including CD57+ T follicular helper cells in the tumor microenvironment correlate with a poor outcome in follicular lymphoma - Blood Cancer Journal
Abstract T-lymphocytes are prevalent in the tumor microenvironment of follicular lymphoma (FL). However, the phenotype of T-cells may vary, and the prevalence of certain T-cell subsets may influence tumor biology and patient survival. We therefore analyzed a cohort of 82 FL patients using CyTOF to determine whether specific T-cell phenotypes were associated with distinct tumor microenvironments and patient outcome.
