The four-time Wisconsin state wrestling champion and future Michigan Wolverine won gold for Team USA in the 74-kilogram Freestyle division at the U20 Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Thursday. Peterson defeated Canada's Ali Karout by tech fall, 10-0.

MCFARLAND, Wis. — The McFarland girls soccer team is heading to the State tournament in Milwaukee with a historic defensive record, having allowed just one goal all season — 19 clean sheets. Senior goalkeeper Jaylah Moore and the Spartans defense have been impenetrable during their playoff run, not allowing a single goal in the postseason. McFarland has outscored opponents by a combined score of 21-0 during their four playoff wins. Moore said the accomplishment reflects the team's collective effort.

Five former Wisconsin women's hockey players were selected in the first 11 picks of the 2026 Professional Womens's Hockey League Draft at Fox Theatre in Detroit on Wednesday. The Vancouver Goldeneyes selected Caroline Harvey with the No. 1 pick. The former Badgers defenseman was also named the IIHF Female Player of the Year on Wednesday, adding to a year of accolades that includes Olympic MVP, the Patty Kazmaier Award and an NCAA title.
