SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The ping pong balls fell Sunday afternoon at the NBA Draft Lottery, and minutes after the process started the Sacramento Kings learned they will have the No. 7 overall selection. The Kings finished this season tied for the fifth-worst record in the NBA along with the Utah Jazz. After losing a tiebreaker coin flip to Utah last month the Kings held an 11.5% chance at the No. 1 overall pick.

Jesuit's volleyball program earns spot at NorCal State after winning section championship

CARMICHAEL, Calif. — To understand what a Marauder is just look at Jesuit High School's volleyball program. The boys roam, go from spot to spot, attack the net, and do so in an effort to search for success. “It’s intense,” junior captain libero Naryan Banerjee said of the practices he and his teammates go through. Senior outside hitter, Nicolas Hill-Gaston, agreed there's a high standard in place. “I wouldn’t be as good as I am today,” he said of his development.

Lions softball program becoming a team of destiny

SACRAMENTO, California — There’s a group of high school girls who are becoming a team of destiny. “You don’t think about it when you’re in it,” she said of how well her team is playing. The group is fueled by faith, connected by Christ, and destined for dominance. “It’s the center of everything we do,” the elder Tuua said. Nationally recognized high school sports website MaxPreps ranks DCA #14 in the country. There are an estimated 16,000 in the country.
