I Hate This Place Review - Pulp comic horror
I Hate This Place is based on the cult-favourite Image Comics series of the same name (with the alternative title being the slightly less marketing-friendly Fuck This Place) written by Kyle Starks. This comic features the adventures of a young lesbian couple who inherit a farmhouse, only to find that it is at the centre of a host of mysterious events.
A Humble and Objective Introduction
As a new Vertigo creator (End of Life with Steve Pugh), I was asked to write this guest column. What an unbelievable honor! Sincerely! They said they used to have Vertigo creators write them and they want to do it again and so I was sent a bunch of examples of the old ones by such industry greats as Paul Pope, Brian Azzarello, and Peter friggin’ Milligan.

Last time, we had a taste of his style with “Moms,” a sharp, sardonic story of misbehaving mothers. Now, in “Artist,” we have a similar treatment for three aging creative types, each as flawed as the others.

'Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton #4' (review)
Written by Kyle Starks Art by Chris Schweizer Published by Image Comics This has been a pretty fun book thus far. I really have no idea where this might be going as there have been many twists and turns thus far. I am really enjoying some of the story choices with this. The main characters of this book are former sidekicks. They have been faced with a lot up until now and they are trying to get it all back together for themselves. So, they collectively make a decision that they think will help them.

Zombie-brain slicing dog just one of great new graphic novels
Just when you thought nothing new could be done with the zombie genre, along comes a dog with a samurai sword in a hilarious comic book that’s also a board game tie-in. The main character is basically Air Bud or, if you’re a bit older, Lassie, or maybe even Krypto the Super Dog. This is an exciting tale of a former TV stunt dog carving up zombie brains with help from humans after the apocalypse has happened. It’s a lot of fun and good, good comics.

Rock Candy Mountain V1 by Kyle Starks
This comic is completely bonkers and has everything you could want: old-timey hobos, hobo slang, tramps, bums, magical maps, sidekicks, regular kicks, and a heavy dose of hilarity that doesn't quit. It's like O Brother, Where Art Thou? meets Deadly Class. On trains. Trust me—it’s amazing. - Kelly
