SPIRIT-CONSORT-ELM: element-level annotated dataset and large language model approach for assessing randomized controlled trial reporting
Abstract Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are central to assessing the benefits and harms of interventions, but incomplete reporting undermines their verifiability and usefulness. Although SPIRIT and CONSORT reporting guidelines promote complete reporting of RCT protocols and results publications, many RCTs remain incompletely reported. Automated manuscript checking could help improve reporting completeness before publication.
The Association of Late-Onset Hyponatremia with Feeding Type in Preterm Infants: A Retrospective Study
Submitted: 14 September 2026 Posted: 15 September 2026 You are already at the latest version Background/Objectives: Late-onset hyponatremia (LOH), often develops after the second week of life in preterm infants and has been associated with poor growth and adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes. Human milk, including pasteurized donor breast milk (DBM), has less sodium content than preterm infants require. There is paucity of studies examining the association between DBM and LOH.

The 24-hour in-house call: a relic in the modern workforce
In the past, it was common for attending physicians and learners in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to take 24 h in-house call and round post-call on their patients, prolonging shift duration well past 24 h. More recently, there has been a shift to learners working shorter shifts and eliminating post-call rounding. There are numerous contributing factors, including ACGME work hour changes, increased attention to learner wellness, and efforts to reduce errors related to fatigue.
Impact of tumor immunotherapy on kidney injury and multi-organ outcomes: a mechanistic and clinical perspective
Abstract Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have transformed cancer therapeutics yet frequently induce renal injury and multi-organ immune-related adverse events (irAEs) that present substantial clinical management challenges. Critical evidence gaps persist regarding dynamic immune microenvironment interactions and optimal organ-protective strategies.
Perceived authenticity drives gaze behavior when watching AI-generated videos of physical scenes
Abstract The growing prevalence of realistic AI-generated videos on media platforms increasingly blurs the line between fact and fiction, eroding public trust. Understanding how people watch AI-generated videos offers a human-centered perspective for improving AI detection and guiding advancements in video generation. However, existing studies have not investigated human gaze behavior in response to AI-generated videos of physical scenes.
Agricultural soil microbiomes are structurally and functionally more resistant to warming than adjacent natural ecosystems
|
Abstract Agricultural soil microbiomes experience frequent disturbance from intensive management and may therefore be better equipped to withstand climate warming than microbiomes in undisturbed natural soils. Here we test this by combining a continental-scale warming microcosm experiment across 100 paired agricultural–natural sites with a global meta-analysis and three microbiome manipulation experiments (microbial suspensions, cross-inoculation and synthetic communities).

Single-cell chromatin accessibility landscape of cardiac non-myocytes identifies tissue repair program during heart regeneration - npj Regenerative Medicine
|
Abstract The restricted regenerative potential of adult hearts poses a significant barrier to effective repair following injury. In contrast to numerous vertebrates, mammalian hearts exhibit only transient neonatal renewal capacity during the initial days of life. Beyond cardiomyocytes, understanding the diverse compositions of non-cardiomyocytes (non-CMs) is imperative for maintaining heart microenvironment homeostasis during neonatal heart regeneration.

High-salt diet aggravates allergic rhinitis through the NFAT5 signaling pathway - npj Science of Food
Abstract Allergic rhinitis (AR) affects 10–40% of the world’s population, and modern high-salt diets (HSD) may influence immune function. Currently, the influence and mechanism of a HSD on AR remain poorly understood. The study aims to investigate the role of a HSD in AR through the P38/MAPK–NFAT5–SGK1 signaling pathway. The serum IgE levels, 24-hour urinary sodium excretion, and AR symptom scores in patients were detected.

Fabrication of low-tortuosity thick electrodes with low material loss by temporally shaped ultraviolet femtosecond laser - Nature Communications
Abstract Conventional battery electrodes exhibit high tortuosity, which severely impedes ion transport. This limitation restricts electrode thickness, decreases power density, and shortens battery lifetime. Fabricating through-holes can reduce tortuosity, but existing methods are generally complex with poor space utilization. Here, an array of high-density through-holes are fabricated by temporally shaped ultraviolet femtosecond laser.
Unlocking ultrafast hot hole transport in transition metal oxides governed by the nature of optical transitions - Nature Communications
Abstract The intrinsically low carrier mobility of transition metal oxides within the polaron transport framework fundamentally limits their optoelectronic performance. Although optical transitions profoundly impact carrier generation and transport dynamics in oxide systems, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Here we demonstrate that the nature of optical transitions decisively regulates hot-hole transport in representative oxides, Co3O4 and α-Fe2O3.

Global health risks lurking in livestock resistome
Abstract Livestock farming consumes more than 70% of global antibiotics annually, making livestock manures an important vector of anthropogenically influenced antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). The global pattern of the livestock resistome, its driving mechanisms, and transmission potential to the clinic are not well assessed. We analyzed 4017 livestock manure metagenomes from 26 countries and constructed a comprehensive catalog of livestock ARGs and metagenome-assembled genomes.

c-Kit+ cells that intercalate with crypt Lgr5+ cells are distinctively multipotent in colonic epithelium renewal and repair - Cell Death & Differentiation
Abstract The colonic crypts are principally composed by Lgr5+ stem cells and deep crypt secretory (DCS) cells. c-Kit-expressing cells mark DCS cells and supply Wnt3, EGF, and Notch signals to support their neighboring crypt bottom-intermingled Lgr5+ cells. However, the role of c-Kit+ cells beyond supporting Lgr5+ cells in colonic epithelium remains unexplored.
