A potential tragedy was averted in Delaware County after police arrested a man accused of making threats against a Catholic church in Marple Township. Christopher Henderson, 37, of Exton, is now jailed on charges of making terroristic threats on Facebook targeting St. Pius Catholic Church in Broomall, according to police.

Driver convicted in stolen U-Haul chain-reaction crash that killed UDel grad student

A man has been convicted of causing a chain-reaction crash while behind the wheel of a stolen U-Haul truck, resulting in the death of a graduate student at the University of Delaware. Gordon Turner was found guilty of first-degree murder, assault and theft of a motor vehicle. He was driving a stolen U-Haul down Main Street in Newark when he hit and killed Marina Vasconcelos in April 2025. Turner could face a minimum mandatory sentence of life in prison.
