Experiences of reverse inclusive education among students with and without visual impairments in a secondary vocational school for the blind
ABSTRACT Reverse inclusion is considered to be a subtype of inclusion or a possible intermediate stage on the path towards full inclusion in many countries and regions. Existing studies have explored reverse inclusion implemented in the form of scheduled short-term activities. However, few studies have explored the educational experiences of students with and without disabilities in long-term reverse inclusion programmes, especially in the context of vocational education.
High-quality haplotype-resolved genome assemblies of two phenotypically divergent strains of Lepista sordida (Basidiomycota) , Hua8 and L-2
Abstract We report high-quality, haplotype-resolved diploid genome assemblies for two phenotypically divergent Lepista sordida strains, Hua8 and L-2. Using the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 and PacBio HiFi sequencing, we assembled two haplotypes per strain. Hua8 haplotypes measure ~49.06 Mb and ~44.33 Mb (total ~93.39 Mb), and L-2 haplotypes measure ~57.03 Mb and ~47.93 Mb (total ~104.97 Mb). Each assembly consists of 24 scaffolds with high continuity, exhibiting multi-megabase N50 values.
Extracellular vesicle-encapsulated GDF15 alleviates doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity via the SUB1/TERT/TPP signalling axis
Abstract Doxorubicin (DOX) is a highly effective chemotherapeutic agent, but its clinical application is limited by cardiotoxicity. Mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis are key mechanisms underlying DOX-induced cardiomyopathy (DIC), while the role of telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) and its specific regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. An in vitro DOX-induced H9C2 cardiomyocyte injury model was established. TERT was overexpressed via adenoviral transfection or inhibited using BIBR1532.
Gegen Qinlian decoction alleviates ulcerative colitis by remodeling the gut microbiota-bile acid axis and inhibiting NLRP3-mediated pyroptosis
Abstract Background: Gegen Qinlian Decoction (GQD) is used to treat intestinal disorders, but its mechanism in ulcerative colitis (UC) induced by combined high-fat diet (HFD) and dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) exposure remains unclear. Methods: A UC mouse model was induced by HFD plus DSS. GQD constituents were identified by UPLC–MS/MS. Colonic pathology and barrier integrity were assessed by H&E and immunofluorescence.
Exploratory analysis of impaired pregnancy outcomes after preimplantation genetic testing and BNIP3L-related endometrial alterations in diminished ovarian reserve
Abstract Patients with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) may have impaired pregnancy outcomes after preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), but the associated BNIP3L-related endometrial signatures are unclear. We analyzed three independent cohorts: (1) a retrospective PGT cohort (n = 313) comparing pregnancy outcomes between DOR and normal ovarian reserve (NOR); (2) a peripheral-blood transcriptomic cohort (n = 20); and (3) an endometrial immunohistochemistry cohort (n = 10).
Glucose-induced histone lactylation confers metformin resistance in colorectal cancer stem cells
Abstract Cancer stem cells (CSCs) can adapt their metabolism, which limits the effectiveness of therapies targeting metabolic pathways. Here we show that high glucose conditions promote metformin resistance in CD133⁺ colorectal CSCs by driving a switch from glucose dependence to lipid use. Mechanistically, metformin increases LDHA-dependent lactate production in these cells under high glucose conditions.
Strain-level molecular and infection traits are associated with differences in phage efficacy against Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Abstract We identified and characterized a novel lytic phage, HMGUpa1, which exhibited distinct infection efficiency across five characterized P. aeruginosa clinical isolates. While all strains were susceptible to the phage, killing efficacy varied significantly, with strain 50071 showing the highest sensitivity. To explore the basis of this variability, we analyzed phage infection dynamics, host genomic features, and transcriptomic responses.
Deep cervical lymphovenous reconstruction in Alzheimer’s disease: three target-defined interfaces with distinct mechanistic implications
Abstract Age-related impairment of brain solute clearance has been implicated in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), yet procedures described as deep cervical lymphovenous reconstruction do not necessarily target the same lymphatic structure. This review examines glymphatic exchange, meningeal lymphatic drainage, cervical outflow, human lymphatic imaging, lymphatic surgery, early clinical studies, registered trials, and reported harms.

Decoupling of Neogene seawater lithium isotopes from uplift-driven weathering
Abstract The 9‰ increase in seawater lithium isotope (δ7Li) during the Cenozoic is widely regarded as evidence for uplift-driven enhancement of continental silicate weathering. Yet, the absence of long-term direct riverine δ7Li records has left this hypothesis largely untested. Given that the Tibetan Plateau contributes 16% of the modern global riverine Li flux, we present δ7Li records of paleowater spanning the past 15 million years covering the southern humid and northern arid Tibetan Plateau.
A dual-function XCL1-CD40L mRNA adjuvant potentiates cancer vaccines by coordinating DC recruitment and maturation
Abstract Background: Despite the significant promise of mRNA tumor vaccines in treating solid tumors, their clinical response rate is constrained by the low effectiveness of antigen presentation resulting from the immune-suppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). Conventional type 1 dendritic cells (cDC1) are pivotal in antigen cross-presentation; yet, they frequently exhibit insufficient immune-activating communication within solid malignancies.

Occupancy-based mechanism is the chief mode of ROS1 function in preventing DNA hypermethylation
Abstract DNA demethylation is essential for maintaining genome-wide DNA methylation balance. Despite the substantial risk to genome stability, the prevailing paradigm posits that the Arabidopsis demethylase ROS1 prevents genome-wide DNA hypermethylation in vivo mainly through its 5-methylcytosine DNA glycosylase/lyase activity.
Frontiers | Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy with raltitrexed for peritoneal recurrence presenting with massive ascites following radical surgery for advanced gastric cancer: a case report
Abstract Peritoneal recurrence is the most common form of recurrence after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer (GC) and is the main cause of death. The median survival period is 3–6 months, and the 5-year survival rate is almost zero. So far, the treatment methods recommended by various clinical guidelines for peritoneal metastasis (PM) of GC are all palliative systemic chemotherapy (SC). However, the therapeutic effect is not ideal.

College Students Are Stressed. Green Spaces on Campus Can Fix That.
Stress on college students comes from every direction: academic challenges, social pressures and financial burdens, all while they’re experiencing their first taste of independence. It’s part of why the majority of the 19 million students enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities meet the criteria for at least one mental health problem, according to the Healthy Minds Survey, and why suicide is the second-leading cause of death for college-aged individuals in the United States and worldwide.
Adding more green space to a campus is a simple, cheap, healthy way to help stressed, depressed college students
Stress on college students can be palpable, and it hits them from every direction: academic challenges, social pressures and financial burdens, all intermingled with their first taste of independence. It's part of the reason why anxiety and depression are common among the 19 million students now enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities, and why incidents of suicide and suicidal ideation are rising.

Regular exercise ameliorates high-fat diet-induced depressive-like behaviors by activating hippocampal neuronal autophagy and enhancing synaptic plasticity | Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Exercise enhances synaptic plasticity and alleviates depression symptoms, but the mechanism through which exercise improves high-fat diet-induced depression remains unclear. In this study, 6-week-old male C57BL/6J mice were administered a high-fat diet (HFD, 60% kcal from fat) to a HFD model for 8 weeks. The RUN group also received 1 h of daily treadmill exercise in combination with the HFD. Depressive-like behaviors were evaluated by behavioral assessments for all groups.
