Microrings as programmable temporal kernels enabling photonic AI beyond 100 Gbaud
Abstract The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) demands high-performance hardware accelerators. Photonic computing with microring resonators (MRRs) has attracted significant interest, but conventional architectures use MRRs primarily as scalar weights, with speed constrained by the resonance linewidth of ~ 10 GHz. Here, we redefine MRRs as programmable temporal convolution kernels by exploiting their impulse responses, enabling computation beyond the resonance linewidth.

Mortality prediction in the elderly patients with coronary artery disease and atrial fibrillation: a retrospective machine learning approach
|
Abstract Background: Elderly patients with coexisting coronary artery disease (CAD) and atrial fibrillation (AF) are at significantly increased risk of mortality. Accurate risk stratification is crucial for improving clinical management, yet a dedicated predictive tool for this specific population is lacking. The widely used CHA2DS2-VASc score demonstrates limited performance in predicting all-cause mortality in this complex comorbid group.

Alternative assets: Should family offices view ultra-luxury real estate as a collectible?
When I first heard about the Porsche Design residential building in Bangkok, I assumed it was another branded project in a saturated market. But one detail caught my attention: a single residence with private parking for up to 12 Porsches. Intrigued, I travelled to Bangkok to meet the developer behind it, Ko Chanond. Stepping into the private reception gallery in Thonglor, the experience felt less like a residential property tour and more like an exclusive luxury brand unveiling.

Real-world safety profile of alectinib: a 10-year pharmacovigilance study based on the FDA adverse event reporting system
Abstract Objective: Alectinib is the standard first-line therapy for treatment-naïve ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Given its increasing clinical utilization, a comprehensive pharmacovigilance evaluation of its adverse events (AEs) is warranted. Methods: We assessed alectinib-associated AEs using the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database from Q4 2015 to Q3 2025.
cGAS-mediated type I IFN signaling contributes to disease progression in drug-refractory epilepsy
|
Abstract Epilepsy is a prevalent neurological disease, with one-third of individuals becoming nonresponsive to antiepileptic drugs and developing drug-refractory epilepsy (DRE). Here we identify activation of cyclic GMP–AMP synthase (cGAS), a double-stranded DNA sensor that induces type I interferon (IFN) signaling, in human DRE brain tissue. Microglia from individuals with DRE exhibit a robust type I IFN signature and the activation of upstream cGAS–STING signaling.

Sustainability Through Circular Economy: A Systematic Review of Practices in Urban Green Spaces
1 Introduction Recently, concerns regarding the sustainable development of cities have increased in various fields (Almulhim et al. 2024). The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development outlines SDG 11, which aims to create inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities. Studies have shown that implementing the circular economy (CE) plays an important role in enhancing the livability and resilience of cities and promoting sustainable urban development (Geissdoerfer et al.

Tinosporoside E and tinosporane A: two new clerodane diterpenes from the tuberous roots of Paratinospora sagittata
Abstract Phytochemical investigation of the tuberous roots of Paratinospora sagittata (Oliv.) Wei Wang led to the isolation of two new clerodane diterpenoids, tinosporoside E and tinosporane A (1 and 2), along with eight known compounds (3–10). The structures of the isolated compounds were determined using spectroscopic and spectrometric techniques. The isolates were screened for antimicrobial activity in vitro.

Clinical evidence of acupuncture for infertile women with diminished ovarian reserve undergoing IVF/ICSI: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) is a major cause of infertility and remains a core challenge in reproductive medicine. Although previous studies have suggested that acupuncture may improve reproductive outcomes in infertile women with DOR undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), findings remain inconsistent.
Detectability and healthcare implications of generative AI–synthesized chest radiographs: a blinded radiologist reader study

Oxidative stability as a guiding principle for durable ionomer cations in pure-water electrolysis
Abstract Cation degradation in ionomers critically limits the durability of pure-water-fed anion exchange membrane water electrolysis, particularly at the anode where high overpotentials and near-neutral pH induce harsh oxidative stress. However, prevailing cation design remains rooted in alkali-stability frameworks, which fall short under these oxidative conditions.
RHBDL2 drives lipid metabolic reprogramming in osteosarcoma via USP3-mediated deubiquitination of PPT1
Abstract Osteosarcoma (OS) is characterized by high malignancy and profound metabolic reprogramming, yet the upstream regulators of its lipid metabolic adaptations remain largely elusive. Here, we report that RHBDL2 is significantly overexpressed in OS tissues, correlating with advanced clinical stage and poor patient prognosis. Mechanistically, multi-omics and structural analyses reveal that RHBDL2 functions as a non-proteolytic scaffold to stabilize the deubiquitinase USP3.

Hybrid macrophage-mitochondria extracellular vesicles for mitochondrial ROS regulation in diabetic wounds - Nature Communications
Abstract Precise regulation of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mtROS) in macrophages is essential for reducing inflammation and promoting diabetic wound healing. However, achieving targeted and responsive mtROS modulation in specific cell remains challenging. Herein, we report a macrophage-mitochondria hybrid membrane derived artificial extracellular vesicle platform (C@AH-EV). C@AH-EV integrates biomimetic dual-targeting membranes with an mtROS activatable prodrug.
Predictive value of TyG-BMI, CTI, and SII in identifying metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Abstract Background: Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has become a major comorbidity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the triglyceride-glucose–body mass index (TyG-BMI), the C-reactive protein–triglyceride–glucose index (CTI), and the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), individually and in combination, for identifying MASLD in patients with T2DM.
A new crystal form of the DNA‐free full‐length XPD helicase from Thermoplasma acidophilum
The XPD helicase plays a critical role in DNA repair and serves as a model for structural studies of superfamily 2 (SF2) helicases. We report a novel orthorhombic crystal form of DNA-free Thermoplasma acidophilum XPD (TaXPD) obtained under high ionic strength conditions generated by sodium potassium tartrate and NaCl-based vapor-diffusion conditions, in contrast to earlier previously reported conditions that used polyols (PEG) or diols (MPD).
